The Inbetweeners S1E1 (Reaction)

We wanted to drop this when we crossed the 40K Subscriber line, but because it got blocked in the UK & Ireland, we decided against it, so please excuse the reference to 40K Subs in the start. We recorded this in a batch with the intention of dropping it later because of our respective weddings are coming up and we needed to bank a lot of content. If we get enough positive feedback on this, we may consider reacting to an Inbetweeners compilation and possibly doing reactions to the series as a Patreon exclusive. Let us know if you'd like that to happen!

I know this is a little late and you may well know all of this by the time of me posting this comment, what with you both being Inbetweeners veterans now, but just in case you were wondering - the point Daniel is making @4:57 where you say "that is the question - where do I fit in?" well, you have immediately landed on the precise premise of the show. The question of "where do I fit in?" is where the title comes from - Will and his little gang are not really part of the cool crowd, they're not really 'jocks' as you guys in America might say, they're not geeks/nerds and they're not total losers - they're 'in between...ers'.

There is also a US version of the inbetweeners which I thought was absolute trash as the original concentrated on the quaint essentials of British secondary schools.... check out the UK version of shameless when you get a chance....keep up the good work lads πŸ‘

Song at the end was 'Don't look back into the Sun' by The Libertines. Great band!!!

I went to school with a "Will" (actually called Michael) and he was in my extended group of mates. And we genuinely had a pub moment very similar to the show. We were 17 (drinking age is 18 in the UK) and a big group of about 20-30 people from my year went out drinking. But there's only a few places we knew we could get served. In the 2nd pub I was playing pool, when I heard Michael getting annoyed at the bar lady. He wasn't getting served and suddenly started yelling how everyone else was underage and he had facial hair, so he should be served! We thought we'd all be chucked out, but (unlike the TV show) only Michael got kicked out. He was literally dragged out by a bouncer as he was crying that we were all underage. Lol. Michael was ok usually, but man we were happy that only he was kicked out. We carried on drinking and playing pool, while he had to call his mum to pick him up.

They called him Supergrass because he ratted them out, nothing to do with the group

It's 100% accurate. UK schools in the 2000s was exactly like this, that's what made it so popular.

I was 16 in 1988 - think I'm about the same age as the writers of this show actually

Yup, this is at least English Secondary School encapsulated perfectly - the banter, the people, (some of) the situations. Awesome!

100% relatable to when I was in school/sixth form, some of the best days of my life.

Keep em coming! i love the Inbetweeners. Its a pretty accurate representation of what highschool was like in england between 2007-2010 but of course its exaggerated a bit for comedic effect. They use a few slang terms as well so here's some definitions that may help-> grass= snitch; quid= pound (money/currency); clunge/gash= vagina

Great video guys. Very relatable still! Uk school systm. Primary school 4y to 11y, secondary 11y to 16y, sixth form/college 16y-18y and university 18y onwards. inbetweeners only gets better πŸ˜‚

Fun fact, this was filmed at the school I went to
