Final Update on “Help! I Am Bound to Aizen!” Situation
Added 2025-02-11 23:50:33 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
I wanted to give you a final update regarding the fanfiction, “Help! I Am Bound to Aizen!”, which was taken down on Webnovel. First and foremost, I did have permission from the original Chinese author to translate their work. However, Webnovel determined that in addition to having the author’s consent, I would also need authorization from the original IP holder (the creator/company behind the source material). Because of this policy, they refused to reinstate my translation even though I had the author’s explicit approval.
I fought this decision for about two months—submitting appeals and explaining that I had the writer’s backing—but Webnovel ultimately cited concerns about copyright risks if the IP holder had not given official authorization. I want to stress that my story was not banned due to a lack of the author’s permission; rather, it was removed because Webnovel decided that their rules require “dual authorization” for fanfiction translations.
Thank you all for your support and understanding throughout this process. I hope this clarifies the situation and why “Help! I Am Bound to Aizen!” is no longer available on the platform.
As you already know I POST IT HERE STILL, and will continue to post it on other sites.

The whole point of Fanfic is that is a fiction created by fan on origins story and is in no way related to original story. That is why fanfic creators add the warning that all the OG characters belong to original creator. I think WN is trying to curb translations and want the authors to create new content instead. Might be due to creating more traffic. Like folks who started fanfics have higher chances to make original content in the future compared to authors creating original content directly.
