Our Aunt Has Pancreatic Cancer

If we've seemed quiet for the last bit, it's because we've been visiting our aunt in the hospital while taking care of our uncle (our aunt had been his caretaker and now we're doing it while she's there.) We love her more than our mother and we live in a little house on her, and my uncle's, property.

It's unlikely that our aunt will make it more than six months to a year and right now, she hasn't been able to eat for two weeks and has been on IV nutrition. She was transferred to the hospital two weeks ago. Her pancreas is blocking her bile ducts and the exit from her stomach. They're working to figure out a way to bypass the constricted area so she can go home.

We just got done crying in the middle of the night.

This is one of the hardest portions of our life. We're on call 16 hours a day to take care of our uncle (we have to help with his meals especially) and on top of that, we're visiting our aunt in the hospital and helping her with stuff a few hours every day.

Nothing's been easy. We also are a system of 16 now. There've been so many splits over the last bit, only our two significant others know all their names. Through these splits, we've uncovered trauma that is far worse than anything we remembered before. We were severely mistreated starting at the age of four and that's what started the process of shattering our mind.

All that said, once our aunt is home from the hospital (this will happen early next week) we will be able to finish a couple things we've been working on so y'all can enjoy more of our art. We love making it and it actually helps us cope with this, often horrendous, world. We aren't going to stop, but we've definitely ended up on pause for a little bit.

We'll make it, we have a lot of support from inside, and around, us. We're not at all suicidal or at risk. We just have been crying a lot and processing this difficult time.
