A Gut Feeling
Added 2021-01-09 08:22:15 +0000 UTCAs my previous post I am exploring the idea of feeling pain within a dream. Little is known about pain in dreams. Even though it is rare in dreams to feel pain it can still happen. The stimuli in your brain reacts to the fake pain as it would in real life. This would happen during REM sleep.
Sound, Touch, Taste, Sight and Smell is the idea that it comes from your memories and imagination. Lili's dream is meant to feel like her reality so she can never question it. Lili subconscious is able to create a lucid world in which even Jasper can feel these sensations. No matter if Jasper knows the sensations he feels aren't real doesn't stop him from actually feeling them. Within the dream he does get hungry and tired etc.
Lili's subconscious wants Jasper to leave but Jasper has proven to be stubborn. No matter how many beatings he gets he still manages to hold on. That being said, the subconscious is the concerning part of our mind that isn't fully aware and reactions on emotions and action. So knowing that a dreamcatcher has entered her dreams troubles it and it wants to kill him and remove him completely.
Dreams are a link between the conscious and subconscious mind and Lili losing her memories lost control of her conscious. Our subconscious is powerful and can react through emotions leading to some dark results in my story.
