I am so Jealous. Just a dumb American here living in Las Vegas, and in my neighborhood the best I can get is 1Gbps Down Broadband, which they somehow pair with only 40Mbps Up. I have been begging them to rollout Fiber to my Area for the better part of 7 years now, and still, neither ISP I have the Choice of using has decided to roll out Fiber to my area. But when It does eventually come I am able to route at 10Gbps using PFSense on an a few years Old Gen9 HP Xeon Server that I had lying around, so I will be ready to go when it finally does arrive at my home Office. Use the same setup at my actual Office where we have 5Gb Fiber, and Fully saturates that, I wish I had the opportunity to have 25Gbps, sounds fun!

2021-09-14 18:59:37 +0000 UTCI’m fortunate enough to have our isp upgrade our connection to sfp28 (25gbps) and yes it is for home use :)) they are recommending a mikrotik router that even they say that can’t actually route at full bandwidth. It would be nice if you make a video about a small pc box with something like Connect-X 4 that can run pfsense and route at wire speed. How many cores would we need?
