This time it's a mostly spoiler-free look at Oxenfree, an adventure game that mixes spooky ghost stories and young adult fiction.And despite being a cranky 31 year old guy I mostly liked it, so that's gotta be a statement in favor of either me or the game (I'm not sure which).
Anyways, the next Halloween episode should be up soonish - I've got at least two in mind and they're both finally approaching actually scary, so this should be fun.

Just that the game is a little bit light, both in length and in theme. It's only about 3 hours long, and in that time it mostly addresses the teenage problems of five highschoolers. And that's totally cool! It's exactly what the game set out to do, and it did it really well. But it's also not delving into deep in the human condition or giving the audience a wrenching emotional drama. It's a small game with small problems, and that's a-OK! At the risk of punning - I didn't intend the word slight *as* a slight.
