The State of The Ebon

TLDR: things are okay but could be better.

That about says it. Sometime in the fall, subs took a sharp dive and have only slightly recovered. Yes, this is a pretty niche thing and yes it's pron so there is always a lot of churn - and I mean a whole lot - but it's not good. It could be and hopefully will in the future be a lot better. I broke 150 subs at one point a couple years ago but I never could figure out how to grow it past that point. I keep thinking that there must be some place I could post things and get people interested other than Twitter or Bluesky. You'd think with all the uptick in superhero interest over the last 20 years there would be communities out there for it, but... nah. Reddit is a censored wasteland for erotica and I haven't found anything else, really. Yes, it's a hobby but it's also increasingly how I pay my mortgage, as well.

On the positive side, you cannot really imagine how flattered I am that I have regular patrons who have been with me for YEARS.

That said, y'all really, really need to talk to me more about what you like and don't like for the purely selfish reason that I want to retain more of you. :) Comments are like golden nuggets to me, hoarded and read and re-read.

Join the discord at https://discord.gg/6nkdnS7U - I talk about totally random stuff, show off works in progress, test out some content, answer questions about setting and characters, and other stuff.

Patreon started rolling out being able to see and search for adult content creators last month and is 'gradually' rolling that out to all members. We'll see if that helps things.

On the comics side, things are pretty good. I've learned some new tricks y'all will be seeing in the coming year. I did not miss a week on posting comics this year, again. Right now, it stands at 294 comics - 300 is just around the corner.

Still looking for a better solution for people to download the comics; I get the impression that some don't know that comics posts stretch back almost eight years now, and I cannot offer a 'look at all the files and get what you want' thing outside of the Collections. It's a better solution than the old index page but not by much.

Thank you all for being here. It's really fun.
