Ready for the diorama!

My friends, I finished the building and it was a very tight time schedule!

Luckily, the corrugated roof went much smoother than the gable because I used pewter foil instead of copper, and made a simple bending jig/press from styrene sheets and rods. Everything will be shown on video! As for painting, it was again sprayed with AK 3rd gen Silver, and the rust stains were applied with an airbrush. It's Tamiya Flat Yellow with a drop of Hull Red, and the process was endless fun! Of course, some darker rust stains were painted with Lifecolor acrylics, and a pin wash was applied around the bolts.

Now, the remaining accessories are courtesy of RT Diorama. They're all 3D printed - the vent stack, the gutter, and the fuse boxes. They're all lovely accessories, although I find the gutter to be a bit oversized. You need to scale up some details for 3D printing for a variety of reasons, but this seems too oversized for my taste. The fuse boxes, however, are a thing of beauty! Does that lamp sound familiar? Yup, it's the same one I made for the Normandy diorama!

The electrical cables were really fun. They're all made from 0.4mm lead wires, carefully superglued to the surface. I outlined them with diluted Black Brown as a kind of pin wash, then painted them in light grey, and added small white strips, as if they were nailed to the walls.

Now I can start working on the diorama and put everything together. However, although I have the tank and the building finished, a ton of work is still ahead of me. Contractors are coming on Monday to tear down my hallway and bathroom, so I need to prepare everything for that, and there will be a lot of debris everywhere, so I'm not yet sure how I'll be able to work during the day, and if I'll be even able to enter/leave my studio. Because of this I'll skip one week of uploading so I can finish the diorama in the highest standard possible without cutting any corners... and also because the last few weeks were total chaos for me, as some of you might've noticed. I was barely able to finish anything in time, and it was becoming really exhausting.

So I hope the finished scene will be worth it!

If this doesn’t inspire me to build a diorama, nothing will. I love all of the authentic details you’ve included.
