Markings

My friends, it's a proper Heiland now!

First I added the black outlines with a paintbrush, then gave the sides one extra layer of higlights using very diluted Deck Tan.

Then it was stencil time... I've had these stencils for the longest time! They were made by another modeler for me and some of them were quite complex, for example, the cross on the back consisted of 4 individual stencils. Having 2 airbrushes came in very handy here because I could have one loaded with white and the other with black paint.

The only part that wasn't airbrushed was the black "shield" under the skull at the front, although I gave it some post-shading with diluted white afterwards.

Well, now I just need to outline the rivets with a dark Shader and it'll be ready for weathering!

I am STOKED to keep learning. I started my first tank, the obligatory M41 Walker. Im finished with assembly. I now need to move on to details. This is terrifying

Tanks always look better once the markings have been added...in this instance, wow, just fantastic. I have always liked to look of crude hand painted markings, they add a sense of life. These look absolutely great for stencils. They just look like they have been painted by 1/35 sized hands!
