Mudify!

My friends, after finding some good inspiration during a walk in a rather muddy forest this weekend I proceeded to weather the tracks.

I used the same methods as on the lower hull and tracks, and some additional contrast will be added once the upper surfaces are weathered as well. I find it easier to achieve the final balance once every effect is roughly blocked in, so you can expect some additional dark tones, some wet glossy stains, etc.! 😁Next up: the rest of the tank 😁

After listening to the newest episode of Sprue Cutters Union podcast with Lester Plaskitt I'm starting to consider a small, simple vignette to help set the scene. My newfound philosophy for dioramas and vignettes was that the groundwork should "host" the entire model, including a long gun barrel, but what if it's not really a dio, a vignette, but a "decorated display stand"? (Anyone remember that term from the OG days? 😁)

What are your thoughts? Long barrel, small base, gun protruding from the scene? Yay or nay?

My models spend most of their life as dust collectors (no glass cases above each one) so that shouldn't be an issue, ha! 😁

Night Shift

Haha, what a way to subvert everyone's expectations! 😁

Night Shift

I’d say yay to the protruding gun barrel, but in my oppinion, it’s not very useful if you want to cover the thing up with a glass cover of sorts. But if not, it looks really nice and kind of aggressive. However, to flex with your all around modeling skills, a diorama is far Supreme!

I think you should paint the barrel pink and stick a giant dragonfly to the end of it so as to emphasize the *frogginess* of it. ;) I have faith that whatever you do it will look DY-NO-MYTE!
