Now I'm happy

So I tried a a slightly different approach in some places and as it turns out glazing is so much more efficient and also easier. You can just lay down strong lights and shadows and then  smooth them out with a glaze and the results are great. It worked especially well on the belt and pistol holster where I used Black Brown as a base coat, Flat Earth as a highlight and then blended it all together with a black glaze.

Same thing with binoculars. I wanted to paint them yellow but they're cast as a part of the body, which means they don't have a round shape and they just somewhat "blend" into the figure. But again, glazes for the win. I stippled them with dark yellow for a somewhat worn out/slightly chipped look and then used black brown as a wash and a glaze and boom, pretty nice light/shadow transition.

Details, once painted, add a lot to the overall look of a figure. So I think at some point it's better to paint them and then you can have a better idea on what's still missing. Outlining tiny, barely visible sewing details also adds a lot of visual interest, and from what I've seen figure painters always try to make the most of every detail on their figures. Sometimes they even paint things that aren't even there 😁

The headphone and microphone wires were a pain in the ass, but I'm glad I decided to add them! Hans is now pretty much finished but I think I'll add some dirt spots here and there. Not sure which paints I'm gonna use, but I feel like acrylics should be fun 😊

Hi Uncle great work! I’m a little shocked that this is your first figure in years. Can you remind me what gauge wire you used for the headphones.
