Groundwork done

Hello friends, hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I didn't do anything over the past two days, but I'm including a few photos of what I've been doing and where I went - they're at the end of this gallery. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I was quite exhausted and overwhelmed with all the stuff people do over the weekend.

Today I went back to the bench first thing in the morning to get the groundwork done. This meant adding more fine sand and stones (sort of a second layer), adding a few small clumps of static grass with the applicator thingy - the green shade will be of course painted in more yellowish, dry tones - and brushing Surfacer 500 on the sides. I might remove a few tufts from the lower section in the front because some of them are kinda awkward, but apart from that I consider the terrain ready for painting.

So the remaining task for today is to build the roadsigns. This means sanding the barrels, filling them with stones and of course making the wooden signs from plasticard. Doesn't sound too daunting, so I hope it'll be all ready by the evening. I'm sure as hell gonna keep you updated with another post tonight!

Thanks! No, I actually haven't used it since I built the Sherman, that was the last time I modelled something in it (wooden crates). The stowage I used on this Crusader - grenade boxes and flimsy cans - those I did much earlier, I think during the winter.

Uncle, what a beautiful view of the country side. You mention in a previous video using Onshape, do you use this program on a regular basis?

Haha, what a narrative ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

You rode your super spy mountain bike to check out a highly secret communications facility, and narrowly escaped with a fantastic ramp jump? Pretty cool stuff! :D And the base looks great too!
