No distressing this time, post shading!
The idea came out of nowhere and I already know it was a good call, because it's such a nice change. What you see is just a dark base layer + dirt passes + light "real" tone. Tomorrow I'll continue with more lights, shadows and stains. Some places will have more contrast, others less. It's just about playing around until you get what feels right. I could almost compare this method to painting tarps or figures with diluted acrylics... adding more contrast here, toning it down there....
I'll probably spray the black camo over a layer of chipping fluid and then post-shade it. Just writing about it sounds pretty interesting 😁
The main color used is XF-60 Dark Yellow mixed with more and more white. Basically a light version of German Yellow, because when you look at the color sample of Light Stone, it's just a generic light sand yellow color... maybe with a slight yellowish tint, but that can be added with filters or oils.
Oh yeah, and comedy gold moment, I was filming the paint cup in front of the book and accidentally spilled the paint on it 😆I hate myself.... for not filming the entire thing!!!
