Let the new project begin!
Added 2020-05-21 23:23:46 +0000 UTCSo, after exporting the diorama video twice, adding credits to tomorrow's video and uploading two vids on Youtube, I also started building the Sherman, and compared to Revell, it's pure heaven 🤤
After Tamiya gave up on those metal lower hulls for "realistic weight", they still refuse to swallow their own pride and so they supply these newer 1/48 tanks with metal weights (they're rods in this kit, but the Abrams for example has rectangular slabs), and although I think the concept is pointless, I used them just for fun... after all, I paid for them 😄
Typical Tamiya, everything fits like a Lego set, but the suspension slowed me down quite a lot. The individual bogies are quite complex in shape, and as every part on every kit ever, they have seam lines which had to be cleaned.
So tomorrow I'll clean up those roadwheels and hopefully get the entire running gear assembled!

Hahaha glad I am not the only one adding my useless metal slab to my Abrams kit- I am something of a "completionist" -if that is a word? "What do you mean I shouldn't paint this part because it will never be seen again?" Anyway I am excited for you to get to the Abrams some day- although sadly it is not quite as detailed "out of the box" as the 1/72 scale Flyhawk kit. The Hauler photoetch set helps a lot and was a fun way for me to get in some much needed PE soldering practice. Take care!
