DevLog (NSFW): Pool and Shower Fixing and Shower End Scene

Heya,

So here's another edition of the Before/After pics that I've been sharing. I also hinted at a regular text DevLog last week but got busy working on stuff and literally was updating things so fast that it seemed pointless to tell people what I was working on because it kept changing. But, I'm gonna do a text version pretty quick again here. Spoiler alert: I'm at the tail end of it so v0.03 should be done before too long.

But until then...

This will probably be the last teaser pics for v0.03 but I wanted to show some progress on the scene changes we'll be seeing compared to how they were in the original. So let's dive right in.

Pic 1: First up, we have the old version of Zack fixing the shower lights. We see about a thousand shadows here because my lighting skills were really bad back then. The scene is very dark but very inconsistent so I'd rather stop looking at it, lol.

Pic 2: Ok. So here's an example of the changes for the revamp. In the revamp, Zack will actually change clothes and have a different outfit on while fixing the lights. You can also see that he's still wearing the toolbelt that he got from Ernie. Yeah, I'll admit that the shirtless/vest thing probably isn't plausible but it was fun to do that and maybe it's some eye candy for the Zack fans out there (I used the humidity as an excuse). There is actually quite a few changes to this scene and it's a little more extended than it was in the original including some goofy stuff that I won't spoil for now. 

If you'd like to see another teaser of the shower fix scene, I'm posting one similar to this pic on my Twitter later so be sure to go over there and give it a like and retweet it if you're able, it helps with the game's exposure and I'm starting to try and market the game more than I used to so any help is appreciated.

Pic 3: This shot is the original pic we see of a very exaggerated Zack reacting to the college pool for the first time. This scene is pretty problematic for lighting so I'm still working on a few things but let's get to the revamp pic and we can talk about it.

Pic 4: The revamp reaction will be much more awe-inspiring rather than a wavy-arms kinda freak out. The lighting has changed but it's still somewhat dark in here. I may be looking at additional lighting with this scene in the future since the pool is technically not being used yet. More on that later. Zack will interact with the environment more than he did in the original and there's some new surprises in this scene as well that's super fun. For anyone freaking out about Zack just carrying tools around for the rest of the game, that won't be the case, but for this first experience, he's still wearing the belt he got from Ernie.

Pic 5: Here's a naughty pic of Zack handling business in the shower at the end of Chapter 1 after the wall comes down. Early on, this scene was kinda hot but was really blown out by the bright white lights. Scenes like this were the basis of my Braden Selfie set with the white hoodie. I wanted to try and find ways to improve these shower scenes and other scenes that have a lot of white in them by default.

Pic 6: Ok. So this isn't the direct replacement but one of the pics from this "series" and it's more of a SFW version to keep the update somewhat of a surprise. But this pic should give you an idea of the tone here. This scene will be much more involved than it was before. The Zack sequence alone is going to expand from around 11 images in the original to more than 40 in the revamp-- including an attempt at "motion." The tone of this scene is gonna change a bit from the original but I think the essence is still very much there and imo it's way better than the original, both visually and story-wise (and it's pretty hot tbh).
