I always refer to monster as an anime that feels like it was adapted from a Live Action lol. Also the ending scenes will be "decrypted" for you much later in the series if I remember correctly. And finally I think the universe is telling me that I shouldn't be overworking myself at my job after watching this again with you after all these years. I have to make a life change soon

Monster's "side stories" are actually an immense part of why I love the series so much instead of the "ok, now can we move on to the main thing?" feeling wich is often the norm
