It’s kinda shameful of me to say that I don’t watch YouTube that much since I’m a YouTuber. In fact, I hardly watch anything at all. And that’s the big secret on how I get projects done. Most of my hours are spent on growing the channel, learning a language, and figuring out what to eat for dinner. (At some point, I’ll post a breakdown of my weekly schedule.)
But on the rare occasion that I do watch YouTube, I try to make it count by watching my favorite YouTubers. And here are my top three favorites.
Community Channel

Natalie Tran is my biggest inspiration when it comes to making videos. I think every YouTuber should know her. She is proof that you don’t need to have fancy cameras and equipment to make good videos. You just need some imagination. Sadly, she doesn’t make videos anymore. But her work is so good I can rewatch her videos again and again.
Joma Tech

I think you have to have a little bit of programming background to appreciate his comedy. Like Natalie Tran, he dives into the nuances of things by making fun of everyday ordinary encounters. His channel has changed drastically over the years. He’s now focused on making high quality film with a goal of producing something for Netflix in the future (I honestly can’t tell if he’s serious about that goal).
Casually Explained
https://www.youtube.com/CasuallyExplained
Another comedy channel. What I love about this channel is the brilliance of creating good content with just stick figures and (probably) Microsoft Paint.
What all these channels have in common is personality. I think the secret to their success is that they own up their distinct quirks and awkwardness. And this makes their content stand out because personality is hard to replicate. The world would be a more colorful place if more people owned whatever makes them unique rather than conform to what everyone else does.
