My next book

Yes, I realize this is a little early to be talking about, however I've been thinking about it, and I have some ideas I'd like to run by you.

Creatively speaking, I've been wanting to branch out from this little story of mine for some time now.  I experimented with it a little already with the short-lived cultivation story I was writing.  But I think I'm going to rewrite that one to steer away from some of the more Chinese specific setting choices.  Whole other thing.

Anyway, the plan for Book III in the Quest of Words is to shift away from the Man vs Environment focus to a Man v Man.  In other words, dealing with Lynnria's Clan.  Not entirely sure about all the plot points yet, but I want to sketch out an outline with this one before I begin--as opposed to what I normally do, which is to make it up as I go.  Should be interesting.

However, I would also like to begin work on a second novel in parallel.  I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to work that, but I'm thinking of skipping back and forth, chapter by chapter.  Just to keep the ol' ticker fresh.  After finishing Book II, of course.

I'd like to pitch a few ideas and let you guys vote on the one I should pursue.

1a:  Revamp of Forbidden Ascension:

Plot:  An orphaned boy encounters a powerful and vengeful spirit who wishes to regain her place as one of the top cultivators in the multiverse.  For that, she first needs a new body.  And the boy is the only vessel available.  

She claims his body for her own.  The plot then becomes more about her own journey, slowly reshaping her new body, and rising through the ranks.  Very much a power fantasy.

1b:  Second revamp idea (closer to the original)

Plot:  An orphaned boy encounters a powerful and vengeful spirit who wishes to regain her place as one of the top cultivators in the multiverse.  For that, she first needs a new body.  But the boy is not yet suitable to create one for her.  That must change.

She does not claim his body, instead secretly tricking him into cultivating it into womanhood with the eventual goal of using it to bear her as a child.  The plot revolves mainly around this central tutor v apprentice conflict but will also deal with the apprentice's struggles with his (and eventually her) fellow cultivators.

2a.  Vampires (not as well thought out yet; still very interested)

Plot:  A man is attacked or possibly seduced by a vampire and turned.  For various reasons, this not only infects him with the 'gift' of immortality, it also begins to gradually reshape his body into one better suited to be a predator.  

(i.e. female and hot) Book revolves around navigating the underworld while also making sense of these changes and urges.

2b.  Vampire harem (I like the idea, but harems are a little dodgy on Amazon right now)

Plot:  A man is cursed into becoming a vampire through magic.  Vampires are not a thing in this world, or were possibly hunted to extinction a long time ago.  In the process of dealing with his new urges, he discovers he has the ability to create children of his own.  However, there's something a little... odd about them.

Spreading the curse remolds his victims into vampire brides.  I may give the man a taste for male blood, as well.  Undecided.

3.  Adam and Eve style, survival evolution story

My newest idea.  A man and a woman are abducted by some mysterious force and dropped onto an alien planet where they are forced to survive.  They quickly find they have a gem embedded into their chests with even more mysterious properties.  And they seem to be the only intelligent life around.

No transgender stuff in this one.  More of a LitRPG style story with a one on one romance.  However, the plot will also revolve around how they evolve themselves as a species in order to survive their hostile new environment, becoming more primal and inhuman as the story progresses.  Their evolution choices affect one another as well as themselves.

You are allowed to vote on as many as you like.  I may eventually pursue all of these, given time.  However, I'll only be working on one (concurrent with Book III, of course).
