Haha, no worries about the crying, we’ve all been there with our first time watching this play.
If you’re up for more live stage recordings, and if you’re a fan of fairy tales at all, I gotta recommend the stage recording of Into the Woods. It’s not got the same modern music genre vibe as Hamilton, but there’s a similarity in the cleverness of the lyrics and the wordplay, and it’s just a fun bit of satire on fairy tales - and it’s got the legendary Bernadette Peters as the witch. :D The recent movie version is good too, but the difference in medium meant that some of the vibe and some of the better jokes were lost in the transfer from stage to film, whereas the recorded stage version preserves those elements.
For more musicals by Lin Manuel Miranda, I gotta recommend the recent film version of In The Heights, it’s freaking fantastic, and it’s got the guy who played John Laurens and Philip Hamilton as the main character (and I’m still salty that it didn’t get nominated for a single Oscar).

Lin Manuel Miranda wrote everything. He plays Hamilton in this.
