Schindler's List (1993) -THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN - FIRST TIME WATCHING

The feeling I got was kind of like the atmosphere itself had WEIGHT that was just pressing down on me so hard that I felt I couldn't take a full breath, let alone talk about....anything. I've never been someplace with so many people walking around who weren't saying a word. My theory on that is that there's some sort of unconscious human instinct to respect the dead.

Not sure if u noticed as I havnt watched it all yet but the actor playing Amon Goeth is Voldemort. I travelled to Auschwitz 3 years ago and it was truly horrifying, I could not get over the size of both auschwitz and birkenau, absolutely enormous, still filled with belongings, hair, suitcases, the nazis uniforms still in their rooms, you name it. And rows upon rows upon rows of photos of the victims, the experience gave a feeling I cant describe and one I do not wish to experience again.

It was decided that the 'shakey cam' and the black and white would evoke more emotion because it made the movie feel more like a documentary than a film. A brilliant decision in my opinion. If you ever get the chance, look up some of the Jewish reactions and reviews of the movie. Yes, it was based on real events (slightly altered for dramatic effect) but one thing was actually toned down was the role of Amon Goeth. According to survivors, he was actually more vicious and cruel than the movie made him out to be. It was said he wouldn't eat breakfast until he had killed at least 1 Jew.
