Hello again. This should be my last post before the first MV release... exciting times! There are a couple Patreon-related things I want to cover. I will probably repost this later this month if a pledge is run. I want to ensure people know what they are paying for, how to find information on the Patreon website, and the role of Discord.
On Pledges and Tiers:
As always, pledges will be only be run with a larger releases or after a combination of smaller releases. This Patreon is grandfathered in to the pay-per-pledged post method, and as a patron you have a few options available to you because of this. First, you can choose to not pledge for a pledge post if you feel it is not warranted (I can see if you don't pledge, so this might impact your rewards). Second, you can limit the number of times per month you can be charged. I cannot fathom any month I would charge you more than once, but it might be something you want to enable if you think I would, for some reason, try to run a bunch of pledged posts.
I'm pretty much locked into the following tiers and tier rewards. I do not foresee these changing, and I'm planning on resuming rewards in July:
- Just Peeking ($1 Tier): Access to NSFW posts that I'm required to locked behind a paywall.
- The Curious ($5 Tier): Access to participate in game content polls. There should be around 1 poll every 2-3 months. You can see past polls for examples of what to expect.
- The Worker Bees ($10 Tier): Access to all beta releases. The first beta release will be when the combat system is ready for testing. Not every release will have a beta period.
- Goin' All the Way ($20 Tier): Access to any alpha releases and participation in game content development. The "Patreon Bandits" are a good example of how you might contribute by being a member of this tier.
- The Horny Goblins ($50 Tier): Funding this tier 2x ($100) will enable you to create a short encounter or quest in the game. We will have to discuss your plans and make sure they fit, but this reward can include custom artwork.
A note on Aylia's Story releases - at some point, the public release will be set to lag behind the patron release. I don't know when I will do this, but when this occurs, the plan is for ALL patrons to have access to the current release.
On Patreon Posts, Tags and Discord:
I cleaned up the patreon a bit in hopes of making things a bit easier to navigate. There was a time when I thought all posts needed some kind of tag, but I've realized that's not necessary. Going forward, post tags will be limited to releases, game artwork or animation, game lore, and tier rewards. This should make navigating to see past content and rewards easier. I'm not deleting posts, but pushing the important content to the forefront. Lore posts will also be making a comeback this month, which is exciting for me!
Finally, the role of Discord is something I've been a bit muddy on. At one point, I kind of shifted all messaging to Discord, but that's not fair or a good way of allowing new patrons to see older content. I'm going to continue what I started in May and keep Patreon itself as the primary avenue for regular updates and teasers. Discord will serve as a place to have conversations about game content, discussions on bugs/issues, etc. As a patron without Discord, you should not miss any teasers or major status updates.
Okay, I think that covers everything. We are still a few weeks from any pledged releases, so now is a good time to ask questions or offer feedback on how things are setup. I am greatly looking forward to getting everyone involved again and seeing this thing take off--even if it results in a monster named "Smasher-Masher-Flabber-Crasher". (See the lore post for more information).
Thank you!
