Teaser and Highres Artwork
Added 2017-02-15 18:06:53 +0000 UTCIt's been literally a month since I posted. I was asked if I could offer a teaser of some sort. Plus, I was thinking about how it saddens me that I always have to scale everything down to 640x480...
So, I might as well release higher resolution stuff here when I do teasers. Here is the second CG you'll come across. You've already seen the old version. It was not completed because if you remember, I had part of the CG covered to mimick Bogwort's hands over his eyes but peeking though (and I was not as confident in my faces at that time). Here is the new version. I also hope that you see it as an improvement as I do. Yes, the revamping of old artwork slowed things down, but everything I draw now is using the new style. I'm still very happy with it 8 months later.
Enjoy the artwork, leave comments if you'd like. It won't be another month before I post again (or maybe it will...).

Or YT has chained Bogwort to a desk and making him work day and night. This could be the opening of the X-files for the "Search for the Green Perv." It to make sure that after the release of Chapter 1 to continue on to solely work on Chapter 2 with there only being minor fixes that need to be done in Chapter 1 that can be released with the update for Chapter 2. That and Chapter 1 is the biggest in terms of work load to begin also. All the game structure is made with the first set up. like the battle hud, sounds, music, and development of stream lineing the codes.

They think they will be happy if I just release something, but I was there for Akabur's Witch Trainer release. People will be happier if I just take the time to make the game I want. A unfinished or subpar release is never satisfying.

It's been more than two years and with this "experiment" of the 6 months of full time you're starting to see that it will be quite a challange even to release ch.1 Can we please get something to play? Can you finally split ch.1 in two parts and release something? I can't stress enough the last two words. Release. Something.

I didn't actually go full time until mid January, then it took a bit longer to get back into the swing of things after neglecting the game for over a month. It also was not as easy as I thought to set a true home work schedule with the wife on maternity leave and the kids at home for stretches. So, basically, I'm still wanting to see where I end up in 6 months time, but if I fail to make significant progress, I don't know that I'd give up on full time. Even so, I truly believe that at a minimum, chapter 1 would be done. I'm working on it daily, the schedule issues are resolved, I've settled into a nice home work routine. Procrastination was my biggest issue the last two years, and that was because of how easy it was to make excuses to play games instead of work on a hobby. It's my job now, I'm no longer pushing things off to tomorrow.

I also recall him saying that slicing the game into that playable bit would take some time, maybe? Maybe he said he didn't take the time because of the installation job. But I think since he's gotten this far he might just be waiting until the whole thing can ship. Truth be told, if I could play up to day 7 right now, you bet Aylia's naked ass I would.

2017-02-19 02:01:07 +0000 UTCI'd have to disagree, but that's why art is subjective. I will say, you probably won't notice in 640x480. Most of those shadows become too small to really stand out. But, as for matching, it's the same eye structure, nose structure, shading style, etc. From a side angle, going really big with the eyes just looks weird.

2017-02-17 18:29:43 +0000 UTCThe art style with shading is a great improvement. About the face though, it seems a lot less anime style, kind of doesn't match the rest of the art in the game. It might be me, but I think I prefer the bigger eyes and less pudgy cheeks look. But that's just preference.
