I was just watching those old Jackass movies, and man I feel so bad for April and Phil

JokersJuicyAss

Listening to the Bam Margera talk in this episode made me think of the films of Giuseppe Andrews also.

May I suggest an episode on the films of Hong Sang-Soo? Thinking of stuff like " Ha Ha Ha", "Walk Up" and the Isabelle Huppert vehicle "In Another Country".

Look Who's Talking Now for a future Christmas episode.

Bill Leon

That’s My Bush taught me what an enema was when I was like, 10 lol

I liked Turning Red but I was a cringy teen girl so I found it p relatable. But I’m also a contrarian and didn’t get on with Inside Out so 🤷‍♀️

Regarding Joe’s insistence that all Christmas movies that might fit the theme of the show have been exhausted, I offer a few to consider, perhaps for next year: Black Christmas, which is a bonafide classic, had two remakes and the most recent one is pretty radical. Good for another Christmas triple play like last year. Ernest Saves Christmas is incredibly dumb and is way overshadowed by Scared Stupid as a cult classic. Would be a good excuse to talk about the rest of the series. Scrooged, which SEEMS like it should be a cult classic, but I don’t think it’s widely remembered. Rare Exports, a truly bizarre explanation for Santa Claus from Finland. Fatman, a “gritty reboot” of the Santa mythos with Mel Gibson in the lead role that treats Santa the same way The Dark Knight did Batman.

The Woman is such an awesome movie. My daughter and I were just watching Tales of Halloween and the lead actress is featured in one of the shorts.

It's also, in my opinion, Pixar's very worst.

I first saw May the year it was released on HBO at around 2am in my girlfriend's at the time first apartment while she and her two roommates were fast asleep. It's fucking insane how close that is to Ryan's discovery of it considering I was the one who helped prompt you guys to review it for this episode. What's more is Ryan seems to recognize the lead as someone he knows and Bettis is a dead ringer for that girlfriend I was visiting. And I must say, as an early 20-something in the era these films were made, I not only vividly remember the mall-goth scene of the time, but actually was a goth boy to such a degree that people often mistook me and that girl as a lesbian couple when we would partake in the night life of Ybor City. In fact, speaking of malls, I was a store manager for GameStop for 5 years and then for Spencer's Gifts for another 8 before I got my degree. I was right there front and center for the rise and fall of the mall-goth era, getting out just in time before the death of both. However, in my observation, the goth scene hasn't really died so much as been inherited mostly by the daughters of first generation Hispanic immigrants. This episode really brought on heavy nostalgia for my young adulthood and was a joy to relive. I could go on and on about this subject for at least three hours. Suddenly I have to urge to try and fit my fat ass into a fishnet top again.

What an extraordinarily honest comment.

It’s hard to express why Blues Brothers 2000 is bad without sounding like a hypocrite for liking the first film. Looking forward to your take on it.

Trevor Poe

Looking forward to checking them out, thanks!

Turning red is set in Canada and it’s a metaphor for growing up.

Luke Gordnier

When I was a kid, my mom didn’t believe Police Academy Mission to Moscow was a real movie. I had to show her the vhs at the video store.

Trevor Poe

I'm going to send you Christmas in Connecticut 1992 purely because Arnold directed and another one of my childhood heros Kris Krisofferson is in it

JokersJuicyAss

Also aesthetic it's Arizona mid 80s, street racing at the time, it's soundtrack

JokersJuicyAss

Angela Bettis is in the women which Lucky McKee directed.

Luke Gordnier

You should reach out if you ever wanna guest on their podcast. I’m sure they’d have you on.

Bill Leon

Love those guys!

Also Ryan -- I used to have a gf who's mother grew up around Chester County. Her and I would watch that "doco" on CKY and just cackle at it 😂

Tom Goodwin

The Wraith is great fun. Alex Proyas owes a lot to it for the way he shot The Crow, whether or not he admits it

Stuntrocks isn't a Demo Derby movie, but rather a happy accident, originally I wanted to do a Fall Guy collection all of the movies shown in the intro to season 1 of Fall Guy, this went to shit completely but during this whole shitshow I got The Hot Rocks (1972) and The Stuntman (1980) mixed up thus I accidently sent you that movie

JokersJuicyAss

Now hold on Joe, in the Monster Fuckers genre, there are happy endings

JokersJuicyAss

There used to be 2 FYE’s in Santa Barbara, closest one to me now is in Thousand Oaks

Luke Gordnier

The nearest FYE to me is in the middle of Tempe. I live on the border of AJ and Mesa, so maybe one day, I will take a drive all the way there

JokersJuicyAss

I was listening to a recent episode and heard you talk about doing Righteous Kill, and you should 100% do it only because the O&A bit of a hack radio show called "Rooster and the Turk in the Morning!" is constantly in my head

SilverHairedMiddleAgedTuxedoMask

Holy shit, Joe. I just about had a heart attack when you mentioned Red Cow Entertainment. I just purchased their very limited edition VHS tapes of BoxMac this morning! They sold out very quickly.

Bill Leon

I was so excited for the Bulworth/Wag the Dog episode I totally forgot this was coming.

Lux Anatis

Acc and joes guest spot on no such thing as a bad movie todays a good day

Luke Gordnier

ACC drop, it's like Christmas in November

Jason Patterson

Good work guys, the only thing the world needs now is a police academy retrospective

El bobos

Can’t wait to listen on the way home from work!
