I love this film!!...hey I recommend the limited series on FX Shogun, Really good!!

According to Wikipedia Geoffrey Rush has a few interesting upcoming roles: Upcoming projects In 2022, he was announced to be starring as Groucho Marx in an adaptation of the memoir Raised Eyebrows. The film will be directed by Oren Moverman and co-star Sienna Miller and Charlie Plummer. Rush said of the project that the Marx film is not a biopic, but rather a “tragic comedy about mortality”, about the last three years of Marx’s life. Rush is also set to star opposite Emma Roberts in the action-comedy film Verona Spies. In 2023 it was announced Rush would star opposite John Lithgow in the thriller The Rule of Jenny Pen.

Is this the guy who did the hotdog documentary PBS would show all the time, especially during telethons? (I found it. It was "A Hotdog Program" by the same guy, Rick Sebak)

Thomas Bishop

Ryan telling listeners about his skiing accident. The lore deepens.

Trevor Poe

Nope. The closest one is around an hour away

Almost Cult Classics

Are there not Waffle Houses in the North East? They may not be the best but theyre all 24 hour and least and the food is halfway decent

Steven Trotter

ahhh yeah I forget, I think that was probably the main coin-op TV places in the 50s and 60s.

Thomas Bishop

Plus Bus Stations had them

JokersJuicyAss

If anyone is interested, here's a link to that documentary I brought up about Pennsylvania diners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNeJA_G3drs

Ryan Lancello

Diners on the old route 66 style highways often had little tube TVs at all the tables. I remember by the early 90s it was mostly just Truck Stops and places for truckers. Sometimes you had to put in quarters, and could only choose from like 4 channels.

Thomas Bishop

You're really becoming the resident Australian celebrity expert

Almost Cult Classics

Just to answer the question of what happened to Geoffrey Rush, he was accused of some allegedly awful behaviour while in a play here in Australia a few years ago and has kind of been cancelled ever since.

Heath Chamerski

One of my friends walked out of Tár but I try to watch a movie all the way. The last one I turned off without finishing was curly sue.

Luke Gordnier

If you ever do spawn, you need to get Colin Cunningham on the pod so he can talk about the behind the scenes of spawn.

Luke Gordnier

You had to be there. This movie got a huge marketing push, then the reviews came out and just killed it.

Anthony Hoffman

Ooooh Bowfinger! I have a soft spot for Frank Oz - his Stepford Wives is /not/ good but I still have fond memories attached to it. Little Shop of Horrors is an all-time classic 🌷🦷👽🤓

Mary and Steve

I know it was the needle drop punching bag for a while online but it was for good reason lol

Mary and Steve

I love when he’s crouched in the windowframe like a gargoyle - that’s a really funny image It was what I expected that Hot Rod movie to be

Mary and Steve

I hated Hallelujah in Watchmen! 🤣

Ryan Lancello

So you guys are breaking up, even after the T shirts I got you two?

JokersJuicyAss

You know what AMC is, and you know what a piston is, meanwhile Joe all the way back on the Nothing But Trouble Episode when you two were talking about Mr Bone Stripper despite the all of the Superchargers, belts (Which is correct for how a supercharger works) and how it's introduced with the sound of a V8 firing up thought it's teeth were Soup Cans, not Car Pistons

JokersJuicyAss

I'm starting to think 1999 is the new 1990

JokersJuicyAss

It’s something else. I’ve come to appreciate it the older I get but I remember loathing it the first time I saw it. Happy to see Criterion stream it though.

Almost Cult Classics

Midnight Run is one of his greatest performances period

Almost Cult Classics

Shrek’s use of All Star is what Watchmen’s use of Hallelujah wishes it was (also in Shrek)

Mary and Steve

I know next to nothing about cars

Ryan Lancello

Though it's worth noting a couple of years before Aladdin, All Dogs go to Heaven have Burt Reynolds in the lead role

JokersJuicyAss

The wagon is real, I'm on IMCDB it's a old Rambler Rebel, Rambler is what turn into AMC, which is the company that made the Pacer and Gremlin, the Pacer is the car used in Wayne's World and I'm tired of over explaining this because Joe knows nothing of cars, Ryan got this by the time I said AMC

JokersJuicyAss

You may be surprised

Ryan Lancello

LOL @ Ryan’s Little Nicky impression

Mary and Steve

I have never walked out a movie theater but I also never seen a bad enough movie at a theater, Transformers 3 is the closest to a bad movie but I was 9 and Ironhide was my favorite character

JokersJuicyAss

We’re Back was one of my faves as a kid - same year as Jurassic Park! This is a big tangent: Do you guys remember when Harry Shearer was going thru contract negotiations and folks online were like ‘I can do the voices’ and just did one-note impressions of Flanders and Burns? That bugged me because voice acting isn’t just copying, I dunno.

Mary and Steve

Speaking of brief reference to Tom Green, we just watched Freddy Got Fingered. That was baffling but gotta give him props for making something genuinely strange - not ‘I’m gonna be WEIRD AND WACKY check this shit out!’

Mary and Steve

Speaking of De Niro comedy performances, just watched midnight run recently and loved it. It’s honestly better than meet the parents.

Luke Gordnier

Oh speaking of Smith, they're a connection to a movie I sent ya

JokersJuicyAss

Just looked it up, you can survive without a splien

Luke Gordnier

I think I know what sides you were on

Luke Gordnier

Well Ryan you should've Pizza not French Fry

JokersJuicyAss

It got intense.

Almost Cult Classics

Oh speaking of shitty Jackie Chan movies, I recently saw Cannonball Run ii which Jackie is in, that movie is hot garbage and you can't stream the first one anywhere so I had to buy a Blu Ray and I won't be able to watch it into Monday

JokersJuicyAss

Ryan you didn't play What's New Pussycat 6 times, then a It's Unusual for the 7th, and then What's New Pussycat 10 more times?

JokersJuicyAss

Though the Diner they filmed at is probably the same from from 2000s Gone in 60 Seconds, and various other films I don't remember used this same diner set, it's not a actual working diner

JokersJuicyAss

Now that I think of it, most Word of Mouth movies today are for their DVD release, or more likely their Streaming release

JokersJuicyAss

If you guys like movies that don’t have a specific time period, you may like fools paradise cause that’s a movie that doesn’t have a specific time it’s set in.

Luke Gordnier

Ooh can’t wait for the coyote acme conversation

Luke Gordnier

I said this before but speaking of The Spy who Shag me, for the VHS there are trailers for Wild Wild West which you guys already did, and Detroit Rock City which is basically a Indie movie from what I seen

JokersJuicyAss

Steve always says (and I agree) that Goldmember isn’t horny enough.

Mary and Steve

GTA 3 has that weird Retro vibe, like the music is late 90s, the NPCs, the city, and some of the cars say 70s, now I think it does it worse than other media that does that given 3 still feels very early 2000s

JokersJuicyAss

Also Michael Bay got his start in commercial, and man, to really hammer in how bad film is now, we miss a Michael Bay dumb action flick, plus Michael Bay know how to use CGI, he always did it practical for stuff like explosions, car chases and digital for more out there shit like Big Robots, meanwhile a legend like Martin just said, "Oh we can't get a bunch of those [Insert Racial Slur against Native Americans] ah fuck it just CGI them in, I already don't want to waste more money on them, oh Leo you want another million, oh here you go." As you can tell I recently watched Flower Moon, and now I believe Martin has lived long enough to be the villain

JokersJuicyAss

Oh boy a new episode, while i'm not excited for this episode given I have a very small connection to it, which now that I think of it, it probably was because I was watching the music video to All Star, but I get to learn what's coming next, and for the after show, I get to see your reactions to the shit I sent you, since it's more than usual, mainly because I said fuck it and sent you more

JokersJuicyAss

Punisher War Zone is better than the soulless garbage Marvel and DC are putting out now

Michael Sgambati

Hi guys hope you do Punisher War Zone soon
