Causing a scene in the Notsburg Casino wasn’t too much of a big deal for Kai. He knew they could recover from the situation financially.

They now had their hands in multiple places and pockets, although the casino of Notsburg still held a special place in his heart, as it was the first real jump for the gang in reaching new heights of wealth.

Regardless, he was willing to turn the place upside down to find the person who had imitated Midwak.

He had transformed into his full wolf form, where his sense of smell was only a little better.

He used all of his senses to carefully see if he could find the individual.

Quickly, Kai had run up the stairs and reached the second floor, he sprinted halfway until he stopped dead in the centre.

The second floor was filled with various VIP rooms, most of the doors were swung wide open as people had escaped during the commotion.

‘He wouldn’t have jumped down through that hole, I’m sure that guy was just a human…well he might have been an Altered,’ Kai thought.

Whatever the case was, Kai just didn’t feel like the man was the type to jump down from the third floor all the way down to the first, and not even the second floor they were currently at.

If he was to run, then it would take him a while to reach the first floor, so in conclusion.

Kai then leapt to the only closed door down the hallway, breaking off the hinge.

It was a private poker room with a table set which had been abandoned in the middle of a game.

Kai then started to transform himself as he headed to the back room, back to his human form and immediately went to the lockers where employees were to change clothes.

He opened it with one hand, breaking the metal, and right after he pulled a frail, weak-haired brown man and threw him across the floor.

The man was covered in sweat and his body couldn’t stop shaking as he looked at Kai.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do anything, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” The man wailed, his hands held up together above his head and he was already on his knees.

“They forced me to do this, they forced me, they said all I had to do was just sit there and wait, and pretend to be that…that man, and everything would be fine.”

Kai could hear the man’s heart rate beating at an incredibly fast speed, and could see the sheer panic on his face.

“That man the one you’re talking about is Midwak. What even did you do earlier, was it some type of mask, what was that?” Kai asked.

There was no need for Kai to put an immense amount of pressure on him, or hold him down. If he got up and ran, he could catch him in a moment at this speed.

And he thought the man had to be clever enough to know that the others that were protecting him had been killed.

“Ah..this is going to sound strange and you might not believe me…but I can change what my face looks like.” The man then went to touch the side of his face and it started to warp slightly.

It didn’t change into Midwak, but it also didn’t seem to be working properly as his face began to mangle and almost melt before it went back to normal.

“Ah, I can’t get it to work, I’m too nervous,” the man stated. “But…this power. They had somehow found out about it, and they reached out to me. They tracked me down and forced me to work for them, saying it would be an easy job. I didn’t do anything, I promise, this is all I can do, I can’t do anything else!”

Kai remembered that Innu also seemed to have some telekinesis power and had explained he had learnt it from someone else.

Through the situations they were in, they seemed to be discovering more and more people with special powers lately. He would think that there would be reports of these types of people all over the news.

Then again, he would have thought the same was true for vampires and Werewolves, but no one knew about them.

“Well, it’s quite clear if you’re here, and told you to just stay in his place and pretend to be him, that they took the real one is that correct?” Kai asked.

The man nodded.

“But I wasn’t involved in taking him, and I’m not part of their group I promise, I’m just a bystander in all of this.”

“And by group you mean?”

“The Lupus gang,” the man answered.

After seeing the Werewolves attack them, the answer was obvious, but having confirmation from one’s mouth made the situation feel more real in Kai’s mind.

What he wondered was why would the Lupus gang go so far. They could have defeated Midwak, burnt Notsburg to the ground to send a message.

So why did they take Midwak instead and try to replace him. Almost trying to delay the time before the Howlers would find out.

“The other Alpha, and Midwak together again. I have a feeling that this could be bad news, that this could be very bad news.

“If Midwak betrays us somehow, a way to break one of the Pact rules…then we don’t have long until the toughest fight of our lives.”

Letting out a big sigh, Kai felt like he had gotten as far as he could with the situation in Notsburg. He had hit a dead end.

“I hope Gary is doing better, with his situation,” Kai said.
