The Rundown (2003) ✦ Member of the Month: Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

Thank you so much to Chris for picking this for his MotM win for November. I learned this movie is called "Welcome to the Jungle" in some countries and that is a far cooler name.

Please enjoy and I'm looking forward to your comments! [Direct link here.]

Thanks for watching along! This year, I'm excited for The Amateur, Until Dawn, and Superman. Along with the new MCU stuff. And I will probably check out the How to Train Your Dragon live-action, just because I love that trilogy so much (watched them before the reaction channel existed).

HAHA yeah. 😅

kaiielle

Ahh nice! I'm glad that I can post some reactions and there are one or two of you that haven't heard of the film.

kaiielle

LOL, thank you Steve!

kaiielle

Definitely a fun popcorn flick!

kaiielle

Yeah, Welcome to the Jungle is so much cooler!

kaiielle

Oh I love that.

This was fun to revisit! I did see this in theaters when released and had no want to see it again, lol, just like you. But, I do remember Ernie Reyes Jr. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Surf Ninjas, The Last Dragon...) being a welcome surprise, he was a martial arts phenom back in the day. It's not a bad movie overall, but it might be another 20 years before I see this again. Also, the first time I heard, "Rage against the dying of the light...," in a movie, was Back to School (1986) with Rodney Dangerfield. This was a good random pick. Thanks for the reactions! I have high hopes that 2025 will be huge for movies in theaters again because of the ridiculous amount of franchise favorites returning to the big screen. Plenty of reaction stuff to go around with those movies getting to stream faster than ever. Are there any movies anyone is pumped to see in theaters this year? I think the new Predator movie could be cool. But between the Marvel, Star Trek, Saw, Final Destination, Now You See Me... it kinda feels like a 2000s movie revival. So The Rundown seems kinda appropriate to start the new year.

Ah yes, Rock before he became a self-parody. It's funny you should say this was a movie made for 16 year old boys. Being a 2003 film, I probably saw this when I was 13 or 14 LOL I remember loving it back then but watching it now, wow, it's rough now LOL

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I was wondering how I had never heard of this film when it occurred to me that much, if not all, of the promotion for it, was happening while I still lived in Japan. At any rate, it looks like it might be a fun one to rent so I can watch along. ;)

Not at all a Rock fan, who always plays the Rock; nor a fan of Seann William Scott, who always plays Seann William Scott (and honestly, what's with the extra N on SeanN?)...and yet, I sort of kind of enjoy this movie. Weird. Sure, I'll watch it again with you.

Steve Mercier

When asked about this film, my typical response is... "it's a better movie than it probably deserves to be." There are enough fun moments to make this an easily consumable popcorn flick. Good stuff.

Crimson Ace

When I first saw the post, I was like... Huh, never heard of it. Yet tis familiar somehow. Later, now reading the post. Ah, yes I watched this around the time I worked in a rental store. Never knew it had another title.

Daryl

Underrated movie. The original in-production working title for the movie was "Hell-Dorado"
