It's Pollin' Time: Mini-Series Edition

Oh hi, Insiders! It's time to figure out what I (and WE) should watch now that Dark has concluded! 🥰

Since my Marvel TV journey is going to last forever and a day and I've been watching some really long series outside of that, I'm ready for a mini-series... limited series... however you want to call it! Something that won't take months to get through.

📢 I will watch the top TWO voted series back-to-back. So this poll is multiple choice so you can vote for the ones you would like to see.

All of these have been suggested to me at some point, but have also been on my mind to get to, too! This poll will conclude at end of day Monday in my timezone. Happy Voting!

Since there's a few show suggestions here, I'd like to add Dollhouse for future consideration - 26 episodes over two seasons, with an interesting premise, and some faces you'd recognise (not saying who)

Firefly (and the accompanying movie) is one of my all time favorite shows, sure there is better these days, and it definitely shows its age sometimes (and some aspects are more gross now we know about Whedon and what hes like) BUT to this day there still isn't anything like it, it was so unique at the time, and was murdered by fox, before it could get going, and yet i still quote this more than any other show on the daily. I hope you enjoy it (if it wins), its a unique series that could have been amazing if given the room to grow, but still has some great characters and dialogue and a unique world and i cant wait to see your reactions to it

I was just gonna say, Buffy is LONG. But I'll have you know that I actually *haven't* seen it. I'd like to!

kaiielle

Firefly is excellent (even though I voted Queens Gambit—I'm chess bias) I think you'll really enjoy it. ps. I assume the reason Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the single greatest show ever created—or at least equal greatest with The Wire) isn't on the list, is because you've already seen it. pps. I just realized the poll is for "mini-series"... ignore ps.

I don't watch a ton of TV, but I've seen four of these and they were all excellent, so I'm sure there are no bad choices here. I am assuming Firefly will win, so I picked two of the others, but I look forward to this next journey whatever you go with.

That's a really good shout for a not-too-long miniseries that I think KL will dig.

Queen’s Gambit was so good. I didn’t get much sleep the week I watched it 😂

I'm going to suggest a show for a future poll it might be one not many know... It has a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDB its One season (27 episodes) it came out in 1993/94 and it stared the one and the only Bruce Campbell ! The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. a unique Western theme the reason it only had one season was FoX decided to give an unknown show called The X-files a shot... boy did they make a mistake lol. Seriously its a fun show that should get a chance :) I mean you can't beat a young Bruce Campbell !

Chris Elkins

You put Firefly on a list, I vote for Firefly. Wait...that might not always work out. Whatever. I voted for it. Cool!

Steve Mercier

I think these are all great choices, but 'Chernobyl' is a masterpiece. If you don't watch it for a reaction, definitely keep it on your radar to watch on your own sometime.

Sam Ferguson

I always thought of a "mini-series" as something that had a story and a plot and something definitive to say and the creators had a concrete beginning, middle, and end. I look at this list and say "Yup, there are some great mini-series here." Great. Legitimately great. Incredibly well-made, and incredibly effective at what they do. Then you have the browncoat in me that wishes Firefly made it to full-on series. Like, with more than one season. I mean, alot of us have been heartbroken for awhile now. But in the end, it is only a mini-series. It still hurts.

Richard Flores

I'm unfamiliar with Sharp Objects, which considering the company it's keeping means I need to watch it. The rest... all good, no way to loose with this poll.

Brad Roberts

In my opinion, there isn't a single bad choice here. Of course, I had to vote "Firefly," but I won't be crying when any of these are chosen.

BubblyRainbows

That is also a interesting miniseries.

Christopher simeon

I haven't!

kaiielle

Random question have you seen Russian Doll?

Christopher simeon

I think I will vote firefly.

Christopher simeon

Yes, I do remember seeing that Serenity is to be watched after it! Thank you.

kaiielle

YES thank you for mentioning that! Serenity is the movie

Got to be Firefly - just make sure you watch it in the right order (DVD order, *not* how it was broadcast). There's also a movie that follows the series

Sean Ellingham

With the audience you’ve amassed here Firefly will win so I went for others. Whenever you get to it, I look forward to The Queen’s Gambit. That series really surprised me and I look forward to the excuse to rewatch it.

Bryan Dempsey

I voted for Chernobyl since it was created and written by Craig Mazin who did an excellent job with The Last of Us adaptation. Plus I haven’t seen it yet 😂

Ray H

Firefly belongs in the handful of shows that I would absolutely watch on repeat throughout the year. Honestly I'd be happy with any of these winning, with the exception of Hill House, but that one's more of a personal gripe.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I also think Queen's Gambit.. but Firefly is an absolute necessity.
