Next Video Previews & Misc Channel Stuff
Added 2018-09-28 16:17:48 +0000 UTCHello all!
Crazy news recently huh? Classic might be closer than we thought! This year's Blizzcon is looking to be one of their most interesting yet. With the recent news about the Classic demo, I have a bunch of stuff I've been wanting to do.
For the next video I went ahead and decided to go with a preparation type video for Classic WoW. It's probably a bit premature, but I've been in a Classic mood recently. I think it'll be a handy one too since I get a lot of comments from people saying they've never played classic before, but they're interested in trying the official servers once they're finished. With the recent announcement, I think it's pretty good timing!
The script and VO are all done and I'll be starting the editing tonight. It's a pretty long one(18 mins I think?) so it'll probably take a day or two to finish up.
This also brings up a question about the direction of the channel and how I'm going to handle current vs classic videos. I imagine that only a small few will be playing both, so I have to decide on how I split up the videos. When Classic comes out I plan on doing a TON of guide related stuff such as leveling guides, profession leveling guides, gearing up etc. - will the current players get fed up with Classic overload?
I was thinking of possibly splitting them up between channels and having one dedicated for current and one for classic. This would solve the overload problem, but at the end of the day I'm just 1 person and having 2 channels would be too time consuming I think.
I guess I'll have to think about it. We got a while before we actually see a release I'm sure so hopefully I can come up with a solution. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Talk to you soon

I played on Eclipse server. SWG was my first MMO. I had just started a new programming job and I overhead some of my fellow programmers geeking out over this new game coming out that day, SWG. They had pre-ordered it and left at lunch to go pick it up. So, I thought I will give it a try. So, that afternoon I went to the Mall, grabbed a copy and it changed my life forever! LOL I installed, logged in and was on this small moon/planet called Talus, I was soooo confused. I had never seen anything like it. I was human and Artisan. I was amazed by crafting. I specialized in Weaponsmith. As I got used to the game I created a home somewhere on the outskirts of Dearic. My days were finding great spots to put my mining equipment on and making the best weapons I could. My merchandise got popular. I started getting orders. I got so popular that it became like a second job. LOL I would program by day and mine and create weapons by night, put on my vendor and rinse and repeat daily. I had a blast. I kept away from the faction war for a long time. I sold to both Rebel and Imperial. The money was good. However, one day I got a huge Imperial order. I slaved to meet the deadline and I did complete the order on time. I was then approached but this huge Imperial guild to join them and move my operations under their banner and protection. So, I made the move to Imperial. At this time I had a bad taste for Rebels as they were just a lot harder to do business with. Imperial were so much more organized and professional in my experience. I could go on for hours as I am sure you could too :) What great times. I meet some amazing people and some were close to where I lived in real life and we meet for beers. When wow was launched many of my friends moved to there. I went to Everquest 2. That lasted about a month. LOL I really didn't like it so I moved to wow with my other friends and have been there ever since( with a 3 year break when I moved to Europe). These days I just enjoy wow like yourself and really enjoy your vids. The community is great and I honestly love the game. I am catching up on a lot of things. No game is perfect but wow is a lot of fun and it is what you make of it. Sorry if this was too long a post but as I am sure you know the memories from SWG are thick to this day. :)

2018-10-03 09:37:29 +0000 UTCOoh a fellow SWG player...we have a similar gaming footprint! SWG was my first MMO until I made the switch to WoW right before the dreaded combat update. What server were you on?

2018-10-02 20:29:17 +0000 UTCAt this time I have no intention on playing classic wow. Like others here, I just have too good or bad memories from those days and would kinda like to keep them there. That said, I am interested in your videos as it might spark something in me to play them again but like my playing days in SWG I would never go back. So many memories and friends now long gone from those days. It is fun to reflect back to a time now gone but could I re-live them again?? Maybe your videos will show the way. :) As always, really enjoy your videos and hard work you put in to them. Quality stuff!

2018-10-01 08:38:26 +0000 UTCYeah I think I may end up keeping everything on one channel. Daniel mentioned this, but I think just because people don't play classic doesn't mean they're not interested in it. Come to think of it, I do the same with Diablo 3! I only play it in spurts, but I always make sure I'm up to date with it via Youtube since it's still one of my favorites.

2018-09-30 22:00:29 +0000 UTCRight on! Whether it's current or classic I hope you enjoy what I got planned! Tons of ideas that's for sure

2018-09-30 21:58:54 +0000 UTCYeah after the feedback I think that's the route I'll go down. It's pretty far down the road though, so I got lots of time still. I think a lot of people are getting bored with BfA, actually. And just a month after release! Hopefully Blizzard finds a way to keep things fresh and interesting

2018-09-30 21:57:22 +0000 UTCI agree, I think all on one channel will be fine. I'll definitely be playing classic, can't wait. Finally got so bored with BFA I've unsub'd for bit.

2018-09-28 16:44:41 +0000 UTCAs someone who played Vanilla and won't be playing Classic(I don't want to taint those sacred memories with a desperate grasp at nostalgia. I worked hard for those memories), I would actually like to see Current and Classic stuff on one channel. Even though I won't be playing, I will enjoy watching Classic vids you make just to briefly relive those memories rather than try and recreate them myself by playing.

2018-09-28 16:43:43 +0000 UTCPersonally, I don't think I'll be playing classic, at least not at the start. I wont rule it out completely though! And I will certainly be looking forward to your videos of course!!! I think that potentially you could split the channel into current and classic BUT I don't think people would have a problem with you doing it all on the one (not me, anyway).
