You don't portray the sense of wrongness you get from seeing the corpse of a loved one this accurately without having experienced it yourself. Really brings the Norece arc into perspective too. I mean, I could be wrong. Puddles could have just done his research very well. But, even with that, I just saw Randidly act and feel in a manner that was almost spot-on identical to how I was when I found my mother having died of a prescription overdose. I really have a hard time believing that can be done with a 2nd hand account. Having it mirror a personal experience does a really strange thing. It definitely broke my immersion because all of a sudden I was thinking about how accurately this mirrored my personal experience and what it might mean in the author's life. At the same time though, I do not feel it was a bad break to the immersion. It broke it for me just because of my personal experience, but the reason the immersion was broken was because it was so incredibly spot-on. So I guess I could say it was well done.

As much as I dislike the death of Helen and brings the whole struggle back to a more personal level then just a force as has been a discussion point lately I don't think she should remain dead unlike what a lot of people seem to be saying. The significance of her death isnt diminished by bringing her back its still a turning point for mc. Her presence is too much of a grounding point I feel to get rid of and still keep a good balance unless this is leading to a landslide type ending and this is the start of the "endgame"

If anything it should be done more often as characters constantly being saved at the last minute sucks and is a crutch. Hopefully in the future we can see a side story of the fight but I could live without that. All that being said, the biggest reason I felt it worth to write the post is because I hope this wasn't done just to make Vualla and even more central character coming up. Trying to rehash all the problems with Vualla as a character, and even worse the way the relationship was built, is pointless at this point but it's really worth saying how incredibly annoying it would be for Vualla to become as close to the story as Helen was/is.

Ending with Edraine and Velio of to do weird shit in the mysterious depths of the nexus. I thought, “this is good, I caught up right at the start of an adventure”. Then two hours later two new chapters drop and I settle in to read. These two chapters have fucked me up. I’ve been reading LoRG for...3 years? I didn’t realize how stable of a thread that Helen was in my enjoyment of this story until she was ripped out it. I’m seriously fucked up over it. It hurts. Like I thought I could cry once and be done but it’s been a couple hours now and I’m still breaking down over this. Now I’m INVESTED. I WANT randidly to win. I WANT this system to be burned down. I want to see what a man who comprehends loss is capable of. “Comprehension of Loss breaks the system”

I was going to say it might be due to this overlay system being fucked up by velio but you showed that he felt Edraine using aether after the overlay system was attacked. I’m still hoping the explanation is upcoming, maybe tied to the same reason his absolute timing isn’t functioning?

2021-04-14 20:17:49 +0000 UTCYeah, the why has been cleared up. All this bullshit started with commandant forcing a romance. Now that I think about it this was foreshadowed quite a bit. Her explaining the difference between fighting with your life on the line and fighting even though you know your going to die. The one thing I will say that’s wrong is randidly should have felt this feedback. He felt Raymond dying and he not nearly so connected to him as he is to hellen. He should have known that she was dying, or that she was pulling a ether from him.

The other is RG has been missing edge for some time. He has been sort of blasie about everything. I really liked rage Randidly there for a moment. We need more of that. He lost all the creepy dark parts of him when Gim Chimera took over what he learned on Tellus. He has been sorrowful for lives lost but when has he been angry?

Honestly I would have rather you killed Vualla. I really hope you can show us the reasons why this happened IMO that is not how you should kill a mainstay of nearly the entire story. I feel like with all of the slipping deadlines lately that you are getting tired of writing this.
