the timeline doesn't match up, in the Naruto Timeline | Narutopedia | Fandom it is takes place before tenma Itachi's teammate dies to Obito (that would make Hinata 2 ), but in the anime it is stated that the Hyūga affair happened when Hinata turns 3 (or do Japan count age differently)

Maybe she was three and they (Hyuga) go by Chinese method. "According to the Chinese nominal age system, a person is counted as one year old on the day of birth, and becomes one year older, each year, on the day the Chinese New Year is celebrated."
