I decided not to post this publicly as I didn’t want people make assumptions about my relationship or argue about gender dynamics.
In truth the idea for this comic came from a discussion I had with a friend.
“Nagging” feels like a word invented to shut down conversations. Instead of addressing the other party’s concerns or simply doing the thing they said they would do, a person throws out “nagging” as a kind of trump card. Now you, the nagging one, are nothing more than an annoying impatient complainer - and no one wants to be the fun police.
So even though they still haven’t done the thing they said they would do 6 months ago, and you’ve asked them about it twice in that timeframe, they just bought themselves another 3 months before you’ll be willing to bring it up again. Or if they’re lucky, you’ll just do it yourself because you’re tired of waiting. And then they get to say “I was going to get to it!” So somehow, you’re still the bad guy.
