Saturday Pics - Last Weekend February 2023! (IoM Machine - Part 1)

I told everyone that for V 0.08 I was going to invest in a new PC that help me develop faster, and I already received all the components, I started today to assemble the new PC, and I hope to be able to finish tomorrow because today I'm very tired. 😄
If all work as intended, I will be able to work way faster in renders and animations! Let's start with what has been done so far.
1) 128GB DDR5 memory + Motherboard
2) Motherboard with the RAM installed + Storage (2 x 2TB 990 NVMe + 10TB HDD WD Black)
3) Installing the NVMe's on the motherboard.
4) Opening the processor I9 13900K and installing it on the motherboard.
5) Assembling the cooler for the CPU. (Radiator + Fans)
Tomorrow I will continue assembling the IoM machine and I will post more pics. V 0.08 will be developed with this. 😍

lol, yeah, it's a beast for sure. There are some liquid cooling options that can handle it, but people are (rightfully) hesitant to go that route. They're usually safe, but there's still that possibility of something horrible going wrong.

Thank you! 😃 I'm very dedicated to the game, and I love developing it so that the amount hours will stay the same. 🙂 Things like coding, story, writing, checking grammar, etc. Takes the same amount of time no matter the computer, but when we talk about renders and animations, they should be developed faster than before. So, in the end, it is a combination of those. Also, the last update was about an hour long, I plan on doing shorter updates, so the delay between releases is less. This is my first game, and I'm also learning. I wish to include things in the future, like having an inventory and stuff like that, but I have to dedicate some time to learning how to do it. In case this equipment allows me to work faster, then I want to dedicate some time to learning new things like that, so IoM not only grows storywise but also in a technical aspect. My goal since the beginning is 2-3 months of updates of 20-30 min each. I was not able to achieve that with V 0.07 (It took me 4 months, but also I did a lot more work, a 1-hour update) I hope that answers your question, Jonas. 🙂

When you say it will enable you to work faster, do you mean: (a) you will deliver the same amount of content, but will have more free time, (b) you will work the same amount of hours and deliver more content with the same release intervals (3-4 months) or (c) the updates will be delivered faster (2 months?). Maybe a combination of these? Thanks

2023-02-26 16:49:45 +0000 UTCHey Mozhilus! Many companies are already working on the new generation of SSD's (Gen 5) I think it will be almost as fast as the current Gen. (The motherboard that I got is already ready for Gen5) But they will be very, very expensive on launch. So all the Gen4 SSD's NVMe's etc should be dropping prices. 😃

The case should have a good airflow (Thermaltake View 51), but I was reading that the 13900k has an extreme performance mode of a whopping 350W... which is insane. I don't know if it's possible to cool that. I think that once the PC is assembled, I will tweak the processor to don't allow that amount of Watts.
