Poll: Nude variants as a Patreon Reward?
Added 2019-03-28 18:02:27 +0000 UTCI am considering including nude variants in my Pinup rewards. I'd do it similar to how other pinup artists are doing it:
- Draw a nude and a non-nude version of the same picture.
- Post a low resolution shot of the non-nude as a public advertisement.
- Offer high resolution versions of both nude and non-nude drawings as Patreon rewards.
*Note: If I do this, you won't see clothing that looks painted on to a nude body, like some artists do. I like showing how the clothing effects the skin (skindentions, breast support via clothing, etc) and I will account for this when drawing the non-nude variant.

2019-04-03 22:06:05 +0000 UTCIt was a personal choice, for a long while. Just wasn't interested in that being my main thing while I lived solely on commissions. It's more fun to draw lewds if it's your own ideas, and offering them as commissions would mean that's all I'd do. I wanted variety. Now, I feel more relaxed about all that, and it just seems like natural progression at this point. :)

Some pieces I can ramp the sexy dial up, and others, I know how to tone it down. It's all in the details... literally! XD It's a fun challenge to try and push the boundaries and make something sexy, without going too far. Anyways, I've talked to a few of my buddies that have a sharp mind for business, and they all agreed it'd be a good time to go this route, if I am up for it. And I totally am! My Patreon work is already pushing some boundaries, so rather than tone it down, I feel like letting it loose and seeing where it ends up. Bottom line, I am chasing the fun! Which is a good guide, in this business. Thanks for the encouragement, Jack!

Going down the nude road for the 18+ crowd and upper tier rewards is going to bring you more attention and commercial success (like Manara and Royo) without driving off the under18 folks (or their parents) who like your Disney-esque artwork. It's a smart business move.
