AliX cheapest meteor lights
Added 2024-12-30 02:39:03 +0000 UTCIt's amazing how mass production can bring down prices. When this style of light first appeared it was quite an expensive effect.
I would guess that the chip is a special purpose one for products like this, with the simple shunt regulator and six high current open collector/drain outputs.

2024-12-31 00:57:14 +0000 UTCThe chaser effect is quite convincing. I slowed down the video playback to 0.25 x and then I could see for definite that the LEDs were lighting up in pairs on each side of the strip. At full speed it really looks like they’re scrolling individually.
