DOS Executables

I've been busy with "Digitiser the Show" the past week, so I'm hugely behind on the video front.
So in a bid to get back up to speed, here is a Byte Size video where I discuss MS-DOS executables.
Because... why not?
Yes, the DOS command language was quite advanced, I remember making a simple text adventure written purely in .bat.
I'd imagine the reason it loads .bat files last is to avoid an accidental recursion if you forget to add .exe or .com in the batch file.

Ah you're talking my lanuguage! I used to love making a boot disk, fiddling with autoexec.bat and config.sys then tweaking settings on DOS games trying to get them to run. Always felt like a big achievment when you finally got them working smoothly, with sound, controller support etc. I reckon I could still do most of that now - its imprinted in my brain :P
