So Mayuri might actually be older then Urahara, with him working under the Weaving lady from squad 0. Actually everyone that worked with her was thrown into murken(the prison) after she was promoted to squad 0. So Mayuri was part of the 12th divison long before Urahara took over and rerecruited him. As for the OST during Nemu's death; it's a volcal version of Here to Stay an orginal anime OST from s1(iirc) used during somber moments. So to have it get a vocal version nearly 20yrs later with Nemu's death is something else. Espeacely with Mayuri being one of Two character in the series to cut off the OST, a vocal one at that. As for Mayuri surpasing Urahara, that a bit more debatable due to us not have a clear timeframe on when Nemu was born. Since the kids at Urahara's shop are basically the same thing(this was stated in canon side material that the anime will probally never cover sadly, With it coming from a LN supervised/guided by Kubo after the manga's end due to declining health). though he has so far surpassed Urahara as being one of the very few characters to cut off the OST, so...
