2021-12-23 19:02:42 +0000 UTCuhh, this is gonna be interesting. i really like this series and i think it might be just up your alley. can't wait to see more in the future. on a more interesting note though, it just so happens that i'm currently watching this show on another channel as well and they have a guy there who gives very interesting insight into these episodes as well as information not adapted from the novel, so i guess i'll steal their thunder and post the information here as well - with a little of my own spin of course. so, things that are good to know but get somewhat lost in the adaptation compared to the original source (and no, no spoilers): harold and kurst, the guys tanya sent to their death, looked down on and bullied visha for being conscripted, as they though volunteering made them superior to those conscripted into the army. they were reprimanded several times by tanya because of it, yet they kept acting all aloof, on top of disobeying orders while at the same time bragging about how great they were, thus tanya's ultimate reaction.

Having just finished S1 of Code Geass with Hachan, as well as Death Note in Dub growing up and Sub with Hachan I can tell you I prefer Dub. The VA's ace'd their respective roles and its unfair to throw a blanket and label one better than the other. That being said, sub was voted in so that's what I watched

2021-12-23 13:17:29 +0000 UTCReally good anime, although I'm torn between watching reactions to it in subbed. I just really like the dub, and while the sub is good, this isn't an anime where I think dub or sub is better. The dub, for me at least, is just as good as the sub for most anime these days but the collective Internet/anime community is so used to the early days of dubbing where there were awful dubs that they let that perception skew their opinion of dubs today. For them to like the dub at all, it has to be some instant classic kind of dub. Are there problems with censorship or politically-motivated changes in some anime dubs? Yes, but there are just as many that don't have those problems with dubs that are just as good as the sub. Sorry for the mini-rant. Looking forward to seeing more of these reactions regardless.
