*Please Watch!* Changes In Life and Patreon 🌲

Hey there--your payments are still frozen for May if you are an existing patron, but I figured we needed to sit down and just talk. As you know, I have taken this month off to focus on freelance, but with that time away came a lot of discoveries about my life, changes in career, and how all this flows into our space here. I appreciate how patient everyone has been with me taking a month to focus on my work and your continued support--you have no idea how much it means to me and helps me to keep creating! But changes are due, and big ones at that (all for the better, I think). I recorded this video after a long session of thought and writing things down, and hopefully I have explained it in a way that makes sense. In case it doesn't, below is a TL;DR:

Starting June, I will be changing the format of posts and tiers on patreon to ONE tier, probably $5. I will be changing the content flow a little bit to be less "structured" like "x,y and z rewards this month" and more free-form, posting content more sporadically, as well as changing what sort of rewards you will receive. These are all changes that are a result of my freelance work, as well as my recent awareness to my burnout/workload affecting me more than I thought. I really appreciate your continued support as life evolves and I navigate my first full year out of art college and into the working world! Another post with all the details including how to "shift" your subscription are coming before June begins. Please stick around for that!

*Harvest Patron shout outs that were not previously complete are all going out today on my instagram story and will be stopped after that! It's been so awesome communicating with ~the forest spirits~ to assign you a species!*

Much love, and thanks for always being the coolest. 🌲🌲🌲

Yes! If you did not switch to the new tier before June 1st, you will be charged for your current tier. Every month (unless I freeze payments) you are automatically charged on the 1st for the tier you are currently subscribed to! You would have had to to manually switch over to the new tier before the 1st in order to be charged for that one, rather than your current one. Your current tier still exists, so you are still being charged for it. It does go away June 3rd and I need everyone to switch by then—That’s why I was sending out messages, posts and reminders! Switching over now will not refund you that amount but it will ensure that you are still subscribed and only charged $5 next month!

Sure, of course I understand! I would like to continue to support you, it’s just that somehow it seems that the fee for June has already been taken from my account. I will try to find a solution. Thank you🙃

Victoria

I sent out a few messages and put out posts saying please switch by June 3rd! There’s still time to switch over to the other tier before they go away. I am not offering refunds however unless folks are switching from an annual membership and downgrading. Since I did try to send out some reminders I’m afraid I cannot offer a refund. I hope you understand!

Hello! I’ve just seen your posts after the 7$ fee for the next month has been payed from my PayPal. Do you know how I could get a refund? 🙈

Victoria

I'm all up for it! I tend to really like the "one tier for everything" type of Patreons. And you health is above all else so definitely no need to apologize, I want to keep supporting you 💚

Jamie! Yes! I am so happy to hear this and it makes so much sense! I know this feeling, of being burnt out and stretched thin, and of having the weight of impending "other stuff to do" weighing over you! I think we've spoken about this a little in the past, but I feel it so hard personally, because when running my small biz, which I love, I would often take on commission work when the requests came along, I felt obligated to provide them, that saying no just because I "didn't feel like it" would be petty, and I should be grateful that my interested followers liked my work enough to get something made by me especially and wanted to support me. But the simple truth (that took me way longer than it should have) was that I really didn't enjoy it. Whenever I said yes, I would have the deadline hanging over my head during everything else I did, I would feel it like a lump in my chest, and I've been so so much happier once I made the call not to take commission work on at all, OH THE FREEDOM! I know it's not exactly the same because I know you do enjoy making Patreon content, but it definitely sounds like it was too much, especially having committed to so much specific content, and I think a more relaxed, flexible and organic approach makes so much sense for your current work load. Anyway ok sorry for rambling but I am so so happy to hear you are taking this step to look after yourself, because that's what we all want for/from you! Take care, go on a hike, deep breaths, we'll be here! <3

Can I say I’m pumped?? I’m totally down for a one tier all inclusive Patreon! I love the vibes of them because it has such a cozy one big community feeling. I also love seeing folks pulling back to take care of themselves! I know it usually stems from a dark place, but it always makes me know that happier times are ahead for them. All the good vibes to you, Jamie!!

Sending all the love and energy your way! This is an amazing decision and I’m so proud that you took it, that’s it’s an amazing example of self care and professionalism! ✨ And, I’m the only one that saw that hand in the back, it’s a mirror? 👀💦

Jambie!! Thank you for being so truthful and honest, your words are very much appreciated and shared, and this looks like a reasonable decision! Hope the future is bright and you'll feel better soon 💫
