FEB Campfire Conversation Podcast

42 minutes of answering your questions: We're talking about social media, aesthetics, book guidelines given by clients, the process of illustrating Anne, procreate, drawing prompts, textures, agents, candles, super mario! so on and so forth! Best enjoyed while drinking something warm (or alcoholic), and hey--remember to breathe. Because I, apparently, did not.

Please let me know if these answers to questions lead to any more questions!

Ahaha I listened to this super late & had completely forgotten I’d asked a question... was very surprised to hear my name!! Did a double take 😳 I’m a total summer baby so winter makes me crave those blistering hot, gross days too! I think it’s a good idea to try and be more present though, so I will have to work on that as well... (goes back to daydreaming about the sun 😭)

Hey Jamie!! Thanks so much for doing this podcast and answering my question! It was really cool hearing your candid thoughts on topics others asked about as well. It was very validating for me to hear you say you’d felt your relationship with Instagram “went cold” - recently I chose to remove myself from the app in order to regain some control over how much time I spend on the app and it feels better to use the app with intention now - sharing my art, sharing my friends art, seeking out artists I like. Thanks for that validation c: (FYI - my name is pronounced like “Morgan”, just spelled fancier. But no worries, I get this 90% of the time!) I’m so intrigued about this ‘list of 500 things you like’, what an interesting idea. I’d like to make a point about doing this, I feel like I like so many things and get overwhelmed when I think about doing x thing or mostly y thing. Thanks for another awesome podcast. Loved the thunder ambience - makes me yearn for the spring.

Around the 20-min mark you lament not having logged your hours while working on the Anne illustrations. You may already be aware, but in case you aren’t—procreate automatically tracks the hours spent on each canvas. To view that info you go to the Actions tab (wrench icon) > Canvas > Canvas information > Statistics. The tracked time doesn’t account for any work done outside of procreate, of course, but it can be really helpful in estimating the time needed for future projects.

This was super interesting and I'm very glad I gave you the chance to sniff candles on-mic! Get in there!! :)

If you have a goal of being more present, you should read the book "The Power of Now" It's literally changed my life

Hi Jamie! I remember you talking about how you were going to work on developing your own book ideas. It'd be cool to hear more about your thoughts/plans/dreams for that :)

this was lovely to listen to, but also omg! I was my color guard's captain in high school! I have a nostalgic pinterest board dedicated to the whole vibe :')
