February *♡~Secret Sketches~♡* Batch #1

This time it's a mix of everything: sketchbook scans, digital sketches, freelance work in progress, and some final work. I would say that most of my working day (5 or so hours) is consumed by trying to finish the Anne of Green Gables book. It's getting tight. And immediately after I finish that, it's immediately onto sketches for three others books. No matter what though, I do try to make time to wind down with my sketchbook or doodle some fanart.

Above (in the caption for the Evangelion sketches) I mention how stuff like that usually doesn't see the light of day. It's true--I often will sketch characters out that I have never drawn before and try to figure out how they translate in my style before ever moving onto anything that I normally would show people. Even with what you see, I don't think I've exactly got it yet. I have to keep testing it out until something clicks and I can think "ah yes, that's how Misato would look in the Jamie-verse".
To elaborate a bit on the Anne book work: Back at Ringling we would usually be given two weeks to produce a final illustration. Now I am having to condense the same level of illustration in the matter of one-two days. It's a lot, but it's what I must do so I can begin to focus on the other books whose sketch deadlines aren't very far off from now. But my brain must focus on only Anne right now.
