Exclusive Early Access WEEK IN MY LIFE Video

Hello, hello! This is a laid-back video where I take you through my daily routines (or lack thereof) and showcase what a very "real" week looks like for me. In August I posted a video about what my day looked like, but things have changed a lot since then ( Here is that video: https://youtu.be/xL0Y_DYHW28 ).

Since graduating from Ringling College in May 2020, moving out into a studio apartment by myself, and starting up my freelance career, things seem to evolve quickly! I started out doing mostly etsy and commissions to get on my feet, and eventually started patreon and got an agent. Now I'm working on illustrating three--soon to be four--books/graphic novels!

I wanted to make this video pleasant to watch, but not try too hard to "embellish" on my life. I think it's easy to get a skewed/idealized perspective of artists who seemingly live in an aesthetic dream all the time. I wanted to show you that I forget to grocery shop because I'm lazy, sweat a lot, have wet hair 70% of the time, don't wear real pants if I'm not leaving the house, and goof off when I probably shouldn't be.

Hope you enjoy this 24 hour early access. I'd love to hear your thoughts!! This will be live tomorrow for the public on youtube at 7 PM EST.

Yeah, man they are everywhere on all of my devices!! <3 Waking up early is not easy, that's for sure. I don't wake up and feel excellent every day--it takes a lot of willpower! I try to go to sleep between 10-12 which helps, and I know I'll feel bad if I sleep in past 8, which is a huge motivator. I have always been a morning person though, so it's been a habit I formed over years and years.

Definitely, and even this video I feel I tried to make it look nice for viewing purposes, but realistically it should probably be even more messy and unorganized hahaha. Art/Creative youtube has created a standard that I feel can be a little unrealistic and it can put pressure on a lot of young artists/creative folks.

They were the best strawberries I have had in my LIFE! So weird, I did not expect them to be so good while not in season. Thanks Gabriela!!

Jamie Green

Yeah!!! Oh, I'm so glad. That's the whole reason I wanted to make it. Thanks for keeping ME company.

Oh a little pre-work-breakfast-watch session, I love to hear it! Exercising is great for the body and mind, so I encourage him to go for it ;-)

Having a schedule, even if it is loose or changes from time to time, really helps me. Balance is the most important thing in my life--having a little bit of everything keeps me rounded and, quite frankly, functioning! I'm happy you're feeling inspired, that makes me really happy to know :-)

Jamie Green

I was wondering if you'd see that and notice! ;-) Fitness for me took a long time to form into a habit and it took research and trying a lot of different things. I started out doing some classes (in person, years ago) which taught me a lot about proper form and how to push myself. I tried personal training once through my school, and that was also really insightful. I would say the best place to start is doing an online program that requires you to keep consistent and accountable! Also exercise for me helps me to focus and feel confident, so I couldn't imagine my life without it at this point (that helps me stay dedicated)!

I studied Japanese for one semester in high school at a community college, but I did not really stick with it after that. I'm starting back up as of last week so it's almost like I'm starting over. If you ever want to practice with a beginner, let me know!

Jamie Green

That's so good to hear, I'm glad that we share that sentiment. There are exciting moments in every day, even if they seem mundane!

Jamie Green

Thank you for understanding! :')

oh the little smile on my face every time I spotted one of me or Marc's stickers :'-) This video was very lovely and peaceful. Do you have any tips for waking up earlier? I'm desperate to get into it but my body just refuses to wake up before 10:30!!!

I love this video and the realness of it. I had a moment this week where I had the same thoughts about aesthetic. I find it super hard to record videos because I overthink how it should look and if it's "aesthetic" enough. Which becomes it's own roadblock in a sense. Would love to hear more of your thoughts about it!

It was really nice to see an “ordinary week” kind of video, I watched this while eating breakfast before a long day of studying and I couldn’t be more motivated! Thank you very much for keeping me company :)

Just woke up and enjoyed this before leaving for work! This has been really inspiring, I can't really pinpoint what worked the magic for me but now I feel energetic and ready to take up on work!!! My s/o was watching the video with me while having breakfast and he said it made him want to start exercising again hehe :)

Ahhh that was so inspiring to watch :') Literally every time I come to your Patreon I always leave more motivated and inspired to do more and do better. I've been on a holiday break from my freelance animation gig for the past few weeks and at this point I'm so sluggish and unmotivated to do anything, I desperately need structure! and routines!! So watching you stay so active, fit, and healthy throughout the week while also allowing yourself to have down time and enjoy your breaks really makes me wanna push myself to get my shit together!! Anyway, thanks for putting so much time and effort into sharing this little snippet of your life with us! :')

The only thing that would make this vlog even better is if it were longer 🙏 I’m also impressed with your dedication to exercise. I hope you’ll drop the deets on how you built up that habit! We fellow lazy artists need to know the way. (Also, it was so exciting to see you working on my flower piece at the end! 💕 Thank you!)

Marlo

Sooo fun to see your life! How much Japanese do you already know? I studied in college and lived and worked in Japan years ago in the JET program. Fun watching Terrace House. But my Japanese is sooo bad now...

Melissa

Aw I loved it! If there is something insightful I took away from this it’s probably that people’s weeks aren’t always extravagant like media may make you believe, but there is value and joy in the little things (like preparing a dish or watching anime) :)

Celeste Ortiz

very lovely video^^ Vernon's so cute ! I wouldn't focus on work too if i was watching those nice robots hehe
