Patrons Ask GN 25: What Is Your Background? Meeting Other YTers?

New Patrons Ask GN is here! We are also filming another BTS video at the end of this week. Timestamps are below:

When is the Next Patrons Ask GN?

00:09 – exeus: “#askgn-questions When's the next patreon's Ask GN ? (And hope you're feeling better @Steve Burke !)”

GN’s Most Disliked Video?

00:18 – Nory: “askgn-questions What is GN's most 'DISLIKED' video? What went wrong, or what would you do differently?”

Memory Timing Content?

02:44 – cautery: “When can we expect the rest of the Memory Timing, et al comment promised as parts 2, etc on the July 2nd video/article?”

Will You Review Monitors?

03:40 – Eidelweiss: “@Steve Burke any interest in reviewing monitors?”

What is Your Background with PC Hardware?

05:36 – brynhh: “@Steve Burke What is your background with PC's and/or electronics? Channels like yours I find fascinating in terms of the technical detail being discussed at such ease, as I know PC hardware at a level enough to understand purchasing requirements, OC'ing, etc but no deeper. I know it's like anything where if you specialise, its second nature but curious as to how you got there.”

How Do You Meet Other YTers?

15:26 - Geoff Jay Cheeseburger III: “#askgn-questions Have you considered a video on the community of youtube reviewers? for example, I know you work with or mention @buildzoid, Jayztwocents, etc.  Might be neat to see the behind the scenes relationships that are formed.”

Why Not Add More Fans to Reviews?

18:41 – Fluffeepuff: “#askgn-questions @Steve Burke Regarding your case reviews; why doesn't GN always do a permutation that includes the 'uber' laydown - meaning all fan slots occupied with 3rd party high quality fans (either high or low static pressure, as appropriate) to provide some perspective on what the case would perform like when an enthusiast would tear out the stock fans and is more interested with optimization. This doesn't account for aio permutations (which would also be interesting for cpu and gpu options), but I'm not sure which would be more work to add another useful data-point for the consumer.”

Does Sleep Mode Age Capacitors?

21:12 – ShwiftyBastard: “#askgn-questions Does putting your PC into sleep mode stop putting hours onto the lifecycle of capacitors? i.e if a capacitor is rated for only 5000 hours, would having your PC sleep each night instead of staying on each night significantly increase the time before the capacitors reached that 5000 hour mark and popped?”

Comments

Been slacking on here

Yes, the best thing right now is HD 1080p 60Hz for a good upload with little or no problems. YouTube says they are going to fix it, though. Great video, thanks for sharing, Steve...

There are problems with YouTube encoding i think for most of the tech-tubers i heard of.

Is it just me or are none of your videos UHD anymore?

Good Stuff!
