Are Nick and Chris Sturniolo Too Hard on Matt? (Uncut: 41 Minutes)

One thing is, from my perspective at least, family is supposed to be a safe place so when I see them call Matt "negative" or "miserable" it triggers me because as someone who struggles with mental health, you already have pretty bad self-talk(negative). So, to hear it come from your loved ones who know you have mental health problems, it comes across as insensitive, and just reinforces this idea that you're always going to be "negative" or "miserable" as they call him. That's just my views on why it stood out to me as a bit too far :) but they love each other and always have each other's back so it's not a big deal fr. Just a thought

2024-03-08 02:42:32 +0000 UTCI feel like it’s almost worse if their goal was in fact to get Matt to “stand up for himself” more; first of all because he wouldn’t need to stand up for himself if they left him alone lol, and second of all because not everyone needs to be confrontational. Matt is calmer and quieter, he thinks more than he talks, and he’s not as quick and “aggressive” as they can be. Sure. That’s his personality, and honestly it brings balance to this trio because if all 3 were as agitated it would be too much (for me anyways). Not everyone needs to “stand up for themselves” the way Nick and Chris do. Plus, at the end of the day Matt can clearly set boundaries and express it when they piss him off. So yeah, I hope they don’t push his buttons so he “toughens up”, that’d be messed up imo. Ultimately, it doesn’t seem like there’s bad blood between them, even when they genuinely get on each other’s nerves, so that’s all that matters! Now, stepping away from their dynamic, personally, I wouldn’t let my siblings talk to me this way. If you interrupt me and tell me you did because all I do is complain and talk too slow/quietly, I’m done participating lol

2024-03-07 03:17:11 +0000 UTCAs the video went on I ended up feeling for Chris more. These boys definitely do make us feel the more you get to know them. And it can switch in an instant. And yes, 100%b agree with you that I really do appreciate them leaving this stuff in - the good, the bad and the ugly. They keep it real and even if they do worry about it, it is still out there on the internet for all to see forever. Overall, appreciate your reaction and your reasoning and I for one, was grateful you didn't see anything serious happening. In my rational mind I knew that, but in my emotional and protective side I didn't. I just felt bad. So, again, thank you and I wish I could somehow comment on the youtube section. I will try later but currently it won't let me. Look forward to your next one!

2024-03-07 03:06:54 +0000 UTCOn first watch I really felt bad for and protective over Matt and when I watched with you, I realised my trigger was because it was 2 vs 1 and I always feel anxious, angry and upset with that dynamic. I really did love Chris pointing to Matt when he said being with people they love. Watching it with you made me feel a lot better about it all. I agree especially Chris gets frustrated because Matt can't answer questions immediately. He doesn't seem to relate to the think before you speak and understand that some people need time to process the question. I actually think now that I have said that, that you have too. They love each other unconditionally and that is absolutely undeniable but sometimes it is hard to watch if someone we care about is feeling like the way Matt was. But you are right, it is their dynamic and they understand it way more than we ever can being that close and triplets. You made me lighten up a bit. I know others may not see it like that but you helped me. Seeing it from your point of view, got me to relax with this. Like I said, I was triggered but also, it is not uncommon for Matt and Nick to pick on Chris or Chris and Matt to pick on Nick. It is for sure that Nick and Chris can bounce back quicker.

2024-03-07 03:06:36 +0000 UTCi completelyy agree with ur take. i think that nick and chris were genuinely just trying to make matt be more engaged and less upset but the way they went about it wasn’t helpful for matt at all😭 they didn’t seem to understand that matt can’t brush things off as easily as them and, as a result, were being a bit insensitive and unintentionally knocked him down more. also, matt mentioned that they’ll tell him to talk when he doesn’t, but when he does talk they tell him to stop so it’s like he’s constantly being criticized. i think those two things are what really bothered people the most because they saw how chris & nick weren’t empathizing with matt (who many of the fans relate to).

We know there is a lot of love between them, but Matt’s frustration is definitely valid. I probably would’ve walked away if I were him. Nick and Chris just kept pushing it like it was pick on Matt day or something
