April 2021 Newsletter
Added 2021-04-13 01:16:33 +0000 UTCIt's April! Spring is happening! It is such a robust and busy time that...someone...forgot to put this newsletter together for last month. Anyway!
Game Studies Study Buddies continues in a cool and rad way. Our last two episodes have been on Tara Fickle's The Race Card and Brenda Laurel's Computers as Theatre, both of which should be of huge interest to everyone who enjoys the show. Both provide some really useful ways of thinking video game history and its relationship to culture. Definitely required listening (and reading). Our next book is going to be Colin Milburn's Mondo Nano, which is amazing, so you should definitely subscribe to the show if you haven't already.
Too Much Future has finally finished Fallout 3. We've finished up all of the DLC for the game, and our final episode for this specific game tackled both Mothership Zeta and our feelings on Fallout 3. We're all looking forward to checking out New Vegas, which we will start after a month break or so. Remember that if you're a subscriber here for $3/month or more that you can access an RSS feed for the show by clicking here.
Just King Things continues our month-by-month march through the entirety of the works of Stephen King. Our most recent main episodes are on Firestarter and Roadwork, and we definitely enjoyed the former more than the latter. If you're a $5/month subscriber or more, you can access our JKT BONUSODES by clicking here. Last month, we checked out the Firestarter film, and this month we made our way through the classic Stephen King's Sleepwalkers.
Mages & Murderdads is back with a new series on Disco Elysium. You can check that out on YouTube here or via RSS by clicking here. We're doing the kind of deep and exploratory play that we're known for, which means playing it in radically different ways and comparing all kinds of thoughts about it. It's very good, and we think you'll like it.
A reminder that we will be doing a critical read / analysis of Homestuck once we hit 1,025 patrons here on patreon, so you should tell all of your friends about Ranged Touch. A dollar a month helps us get closer to the goal!
Thanks so much for your support, and remember...do it for Steve.
