They first met on the show Infinite Challenge (IC), where Hyungdeon was one of the cast members. Infinite Challenge hosts a music festival every two years, where they collaborate with different artists and groups. GD always volunteers at these festivals because he enjoys collaborating with different cast members of IC and loves producing new music for them to perform. In 2013, GD selected Hyungdeon to be his partner for the festival. Their chemistry and dynamic were so good that it got fans so hooked and interested becuz of their push and pull flirting dynamic, and they quickly became a popular "ship." It even got to the point where they received the "Best Couple" award at the MBC Entertainment Awards that year (you can find this clip on youtube). Fast forward to this year, when ep 1 of good day first aired, fans got emotional because these two hadn’t seen each other for 11 years, and everyone missed the chemistry and dynamic. (I even got emotional too because I’m from that era and used to follow them since 2013)
