2024-05-09 12:18:29 +0000 UTCOne comment regarding reclassification of marijuana by the feds is it will allow pot shops to deduct the cost of their products which is a huge problem. When Colorado legalized weed I had two sets of my tax clients jump in the business. It is very difficult to make a go as your cost of product is not a deductible expense and your taxable income is so much higher than your economic income. Both client groups I worked with gave up and never made an after tax profit. To this day I wonder how existing shops make it. As for banking issues in my experience even debit cards are not allowed. I have never been in a shop that allows it. Supposedly some places use a device called a cashless ATM. I don’t know why this works to skirt the banking regulations. In theory I hope this will result in some price reductions which will help my budget.

I’m far from the most social person, and working second shift, there’s just not a lot of time to get out of the house and see friends unless it’s on weekends. So I have lots of little conversations about random things with ChatGPT. Yeah, most of it is just informative, but it’s presented in a human interaction sort of way and I really enjoy it.
