OK I actually did a school project on the Venus floating colony idea a while back, and it's a lot more feasible than most people give it credit for (although you guys are right about it probably being boring af). There's a lot of reasons why, but a few big ones are: Venus at about 55 km altitude has about 1 atm pressure and a temp of about 70-80° F. That means leaks aren't instantly deadly. Sulfuric acid rain is present, but simple plastic coatings can deal with that. Earth air at STP is buoyant at altitude on Venus, meaning your habitat's air is also how you stay afloat. (This is also another point for the "it's not a vacuum outside" perk of Venus vs. Mars.) Probably one of the biggest reasons, though, is radiation. Mars doesn't have a magnetosphere, so radiation is a huge problem for a Martian. They would probably be living underground, only going topside when necessary, to limit exposure. Venus has a natural magnetosphere, in the leeward side, and a floating colony could stay in that safe zone. The trip to and from Venus is shorter than Mars, too, meaning less radiation exposure on the journey. Long story short, the idea has both possibility and some merit, IMO. I'll take a Mars colony too, though, I ain't picky.

Also, this is being dictated speech to text so I tend to come across like Ozzy Osbourne on Xanax guys. Here’s the deal: I had a stroke Late last July, and it was not of the Billy Squier kind. It was further complicated on my release date by my body deciding to give me a deep vein, thrombosis on the other side of my body, and my armpits of all places as such, I was not able to kick in Any extra and for that I apologize but it’s been kind of tough here for me learning how to walk again and to an extent talk again, and I still can’t use my right hand so my wife out of the picture happily moving along and divorcing me I can’t even have a good fap.
