I have been sick to my stomach over everything that's going on, half my podcast feed has been dumped, and I'm glad to hear confirmation directly from the source that you guys are not involved with Andrew and were only ever tangentially connected to him. It's really important to me to not support abusers OR their enablers. I thought I was able to tell who is who, but given that I've met everyone involved including AT and didn't pick up on anything has me second guessing my judgment. It feels weird to be thanking y'all for not being creeps or creep-adjacent but here we are.

However, It’s a valid point that this was on Thursday. Hell, I didn’t even know about things until Saturday. And I should also cool my heels. People have been losing their damn minds everywhere making up accusations based not on evidence, but a lack of it. I’ve just been waiting days to hear someone say that the band is not breaking up, and this was not that.

The pizza party comment was about creating intentionally safe spaces for our community and how hard that is. I think you are right and I should have cut it because it sounded bungled. Sometimes things you want to say don't come off right. Its the nature of this whole medium.

Here’s a video with the lyrics. Pay close attention to the middle verse as it is often omitted. It begins, “Stony the road we trod, Bitter the chastening rod, Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;” https://youtu.be/ONgOH_tq7-Q Hope unborn had died. That lyric pierces my soul. 12 generations were enslaved in the Land of the Free. My grandmother’s grandmother was born enslaved. My great-grandma was the first woman in my family born free. We tend to think of slavery as ancient history, it is not. The reason Ron DeSantis wants to silence me, and my history, is because it is shocking and painful. Isn’t that the point of learning history? History is to warn future generations what not to do. Without learning history, we are in danger of creating a society with amnesia. How can you prepare for tomorrow without knowledge of yesterday? It would mean a lot to me CogDis family if you read the lyrics of Lift Every Voice And Sing. It’s a hymn, so there’s some god stuff. And yet.. Let us march on ‘til victory is won. Celebrate my great-grandmother. Born free in the land of the free.
