I am a nurse in a hospital and have dealt with covid since the beginning when we had no idea how to treat it. Guess what? We used hydroxychloroquine and amoxicillin in the beginning because it was the only potential cure out there according to anecdotal evidence. Once that shit was proven to be ineffective we stopped! We didn't double down, demonize vaccines and keep promoting useless remedies because we didn't want to look like flip floppers.

George Pell died. I don't want to speak ill of the dead so: No Australian worked harder to bring much needed publicity to the RCC. He also did an awful lot to make sure that the justice system for the state of Victoria continues to be well funded.

I have an anecdote about vaccines vs getting sick. When I was a baby I had meningitis. I made a statistically unlikely recovery, and also had my right ear deafened. In order to live in dorms in college I was required to get a meningitis vaccine. I had that vaccine within a week of learning it existed lol. Point being, there are so many things that happen in between full and complete recovery and death. Not all of those things are as easy to deal with as mono hearing. Get immunity in a way that doesn't risk those kinds of long term damage! Get a vaccine!

There was a problem with Paul Kurtz, who founded SCICOP with Carl Sagan, James Randy and others. He thought people exploring questions were open-minded and asked honest questions. To throw out the cliché, there is a problem with being so open minded that your brain falls out. There isn't a problem with asking questions, but there is a problem with dishonest actors (faux news, Ben Shitpiro, Russell Brand, Alex "-$1Billion" Jones) "just asking questions," i.e. conclusions posed as questions. Accepting science doesn't mean you can't question it. Ask questions, seek out the studies and read the research for yourself. (I've done this, it's not easy, but not impossible.) Dishonest actors already have their answers. When they say, "Do your own research," what they mean is "take my word for it, confirm my bias for yourself, here's my echo chamber I used." The vast majority of us are not qualified to question it, but we can ask people who know. Yes, there are "doctors" and doctors who "questioned" the vaccine. Just because they are doctors doesn't mean they're not fallible, especially when they not only go against the grain, they don't back up their claims with evidence, they're just making shit up. Ultimately, they have something to sell, or go begging for money by pretending to be underdogs "standing up to the man." They are con artists. Read Marie Konnikova's The Confidence Game, you can see them in action.

Instead of running a useful patron survey, you should send out Donald Trump-style survey that asks if you're doing a good, great, or amazing job.
