While my wife and I were stationed in Monterey, CA I legit watch a turkey die of drowning while watching it rain. They’re heavier than they look when you you need to remove them from your driveway.

We have a species called Brush Turkeys (often called Bush turkeys) which are a protected animal. You can be jailed for intentionally harming one. Consequently, they are not afraid of people (not much anyway). They're a nuisance. They go through bins and rubbish, they run across our roofs (mine is a tin roof so it's very loud), they bully other birds and they frequently fight each other. And we can't do a damned thing about them, because they are protected (fences don't help they have a limited flight and can flap clumsily up to 5-6 feet) Your kinda lucky you eat your turkeys, rather than let them take over your city!
